Why do I keep failing the Amazon review process?

Hello, I have created a successful stealth account before, but now whenever I make one about a week or two into it Amazon removes my selling privileges because I have failed the account review process? Any ideas why this is happening? No negative feedback, no claims, no chargebacks or anything on these new accounts. They are perfect accounts metric wise but Amazon is still removing my selling.

I use a Walmart Visa gift card to activate it, use a tracphone and a new IP.
I list authentic items, not counterfeit items.

Please help:/

degsey69 02-18-2012 01:56 PM

Is it the same computer because they track the MAC address of it and that is what is probaly catching you out.

Or have you put the same bank details down as previously used to be paid?

Both of these can fail you on review.

willicks 02-18-2012 02:31 PM

Hello, but wouldnt that simply link the account to another account? I use the same computer, however I am running on wifi, therefore there is no mac address used. Also, I do not enter the bank information until the account is secure, so there is no bank data on the accounts as of now.

welcome to the forums willicks I think you need to read a copy of Amazon Ghost and it will help you solve your problems because being on wifi isn't cutting it good luck!

willicks 02-18-2012 03:09 PM

Hello, I already have a copy of Amazon ghost... what do you mean wifi isnt cutting it?

thered 02-18-2012 03:58 PM

Wifi is coming from a router

the router will be the same one as used before

if the router is yours you need to change the mac addy in the settings to another number unplug it and it should assign you a new ip

willicks 02-18-2012 04:12 PM

I know how a router works, I change the router every time I open a new account.

Therefore this router is a different one.

MAC address refers to the ethernet port on the computer as per Amazon Ghost states, correct?

thered 02-18-2012 06:05 PM

i was under the impression you were assuming the wifi was giving you a new ip

the wifi your using will only give the ip of router

but if you are changing the ip of the router you should have no problems

willicks 02-18-2012 06:17 PM

The problem is after i make the account and successfully sell some products, the account gets reviewed and then it says i failed the review process for some reason..

technicall not true since the mac address is only ever transmitted to the next destination, so your pc's mac is transferred to the router, then the router transfers its own mac to the next router and so on and so on, the only constant in a tcp stream is the ip address.

afaik

willicks 02-20-2012 05:44 PM

??

Do I need to get a new computer? Or since I have a new IP via WIFI and my computer is not connected via ethernet am I good?

Or is the mac address transferred to Amazon through wifi?

sorry dont understand

to answer willicks

all i know that if i want to change my IP i need to go into my router and change its mac address

i then unplug the router and modem this gives me a new IP when it reboots

i make a note of the new mac address and when i want to go back to another account i change it again and uplug again and i get the IP address i had before normally

using wifi will only give you the same IP as you were using before unless you get your wifi from a different source than before

willicks 02-20-2012 06:47 PM

I use a completely different router everytime though

degsey69 02-20-2012 08:04 PM

Its nothing to do with the ip address, its all to do with the mac address of your lan card/ wireless card on the pc/laptop, read Amazon Ghost and it will tell you how to get around this situation.

willicks 02-20-2012 11:19 PM

I have read Amazon ghost, bought the book...

however, it does not say anything about using a wifi adapter to pick up the internet..

The only way Amazon or any internet site for that matter can tell what your PC mac address is by using javascript or some other sort of browser based code.

I think i misunderstood your initial post, i thought that you were saying that in order to stop Amazon linking your routers MAC address you were using multiple routers when in reality amazon will never be able to know your routers mac address unless you have a direct connection between your router and their servers (which is unlilely if you are using the internet as your TCP stream etc passes over multiple routers to reach theirs).

The bottom line for the OP is that you are going to all the hassle of changing your routers MAC (presumably to be able to receive a new ip) so good job their as that is something you need to do but if you are using the same PC or Laptop to use all these accounts then your shooting yourself in the foot because the MAC address for the laptop is always going to be the same.

soo let me get this straight i change my ip everytime i log in and out of different accounts on ebay/paypal and use different windows user accounts on the same pc

and they still know im on the same pc???

i thought you just changed ip and browser/user account for ebay anyway i dont use amazon

subzero3001 02-22-2012 02:00 AM

selling vero and selling too fast

that's one of the possible answers.

they may not even be reviewing the account itself. If just we represent a risk for them by selling vero and selling to fast, (2 items the first three days is too fast) then an automated email of failing review.

I am creating some accts and let them rest for a month or even more. Sell one item today and the next one seven days later.

Tthe failed review usually comes in less than 28 days so I will keep you guys posted.

If they check MAC addresses via browser plugin then yes they can see its the same pc, if they are only checking cookies etc then a different user account on the same pc will do fine as each user account has its own area to store the cookies and internet history of that user account.

I dont ever think that anyone has conclusivly proven that ebay, paypal or amazon do actually check the local MAC address, the easiest way to find out i guess is to disable javascript in your browser and try to login to amazon, if they bitch about it then there is a good chance they are using it to sniff your local MAC.

i have failed reviews which were the bogus reviews on numerous accounts but passed reviews which wwere genuine reviews on a few too, it seems hit and miss some times, one thing is for sure though, if you want to pass a review regardless of what you are selling you need to have a balanced number of feedbacks, i dont know the ratio they work on but for amazon you NEED to chase up feedback.

rsot 02-22-2012 11:15 AM

willicks, any luck with your predicament?

KingDog 02-22-2012 05:59 PM

The answer is that your network card has your own MAC ADDRESS!!

You can't use the same network card...

willicks 02-22-2012 11:31 PM

Hello, no my question is still not answered fully. I do not want to be rude or sound like a jerk.. but can you just answer this simple question for me guys? I do not need to know about anything else but this, other then this I have a solid understanding.

I have a desktop computer that is hooked up via WIFI with a wireless adapter. If I change the ROUTER and obtain a new IP will I need to change computers? Will a mac address still be found on my computer even though it is hooked up via WIFI?
I created a stealth account before without changing my WIFI receiver, only changing the router was necessary. But now that I try to create more accounts changing the router seems to not be enough because I keep failing the reviews..

All I am asking is if they can look at the mac address of a computer over wifi.

ovidiu 02-23-2012 01:17 AM

EVERY network adapter (wireless card, ethernet card, firewire card, all have MAC addresses, for example) has a MAC address. Doesn't matter whether you use wifi or a cable, they can, and do, look up your adapter's MAC address.

rsot 02-23-2012 05:43 AM

Anyone bother addressing his products? Authentic or not, could be that selling the SAME product from the get go = auto-failure from AZ due to restrictions on item.

shuang14 03-13-2012 11:51 AM

I have another question, two computer using wifi, First one was used to log in amazon account, second one never log in amazon but browse amazon sometime, will I be caught if I use the second computer that never log in amazon, but just browse? will change ip, router, modem before try.

Rippedoffagain 03-14-2012 01:49 AM

you can browse don't log in.

rsot 03-14-2012 09:28 AM

On the same IP network - would agree with browsing only.

exranger 03-14-2012 08:46 PM

They can't see the MAC address of your pc's network card if you are BEHIND the router, they can only see the MAC address of the hop that's closest to the internet (trying to simplify here). Everything online has a MAC address, switches, routers, you name it. But it's that last port out to the actual internet that is seen by the world.

In other words, if your computer's IP address is 192.168.1.(any number between 0 and 256), that is a class C IP. 50 million people have that at any one time.

Is it worth it to have friends buy few items for feedback? Or create buying accounts for feedback?

degsey69 03-15-2012 07:22 AM

I do not think some of the posters here grasp how cunning amazon is, which makes it way harder to open stealth accounts.

Basicaly they look at the same as ebay and then some, so they look at the ip address, thats easy fix, then they look at cookies, thats another easy fix, then they look at flash cookies, thats also easy. Now the hard part they look at the mac address of your lan card, now thats a little more difficult and they also can read from your browser, what PC setup you have as well so ok what do I do now, and then they also can tell what resident programes you are running on the PC now you are leaving a fingerprint.

So what do you, buy amazon ghost and READ IT all the way through digest it understand it, it seems that some posters who buy it have not read it throughly.

Personaly I find stealth accounts on amazon way easier than ebay because you are not fighting paypal as well.

Halada 03-15-2012 10:14 AM

Get SMAC+VMware Player to address the MAC issue.

yes, if you can list a few small items such as crimp terminals which retail at around 30p, sell a few of those, get good feedback and voila

rsot 03-15-2012 11:38 AM

Just to refresh my understanding...MAC has no relevance to dial-up operation, correct?

slapped 04-08-2012 01:01 AM

It is Not ALL Browser Fingerprinting,,,Not by a Long shot,,But it is a HUGH Part of it,,There is also "User Profiling"(A Palantir Technologies SPECIALITY) that Plays another BIG Role in Linking accounts together,,

rsot 04-08-2012 08:13 AM
