Amazon account flagged for excessive return
 

Wifey bought a lot of junk during the holidays and returned a lot of them.

Just got the email from Amazon saying my account is flagged for excessive returns. All future returns will be on a case by case basis and they may even close my account.

I don't sell on Amazon but buy a lot of stuff from them. Not having the option to return is a real bummer for me.

Is there any workaround? I have another Amazon account but not sure what to look out for before making another purchase, such as linked CC, name, address, etc.

Stop abusing Amazon return policy and only buy the stuff you actually need. Follow this and you should be fine.

This is a sellers forum.

And giving you advice to facilitate your households "excessive return" rate would not be beneficial to the members here.

You have to understand our point of view. Of course, anyone who sells online will have to accept a certain percentage of returns. That is simply the way the business works.

However, the online marketplace is VERY competitive and profit margins are thin. When a customer returns an item, most often it is the seller who has to pay for shipping, both ways. If the item has been unwrapped, or is damaged in any way, it can no longer be sold as new, meaning that its value drops by an average of 50%. It can take 10 successful sales to make up for ONE return.

Also, Amazon is VERY customer focused. They do not flag people for excessive returns unless they really ARE excessive. And sellers are expected to keep their refund rate low, or face penalties.

So, when someone comes here and tells us they want our help to get around Amazon flagging their account for excessive returns, we are not overly anxious to be helpful. Please understand it is nothing personal.

Why would you have to return a large number of items anyway? I mean, if you receive a damaged or defective item, it should certainly be returned. There are also, of course, other legitimate reasons for returning something. But when Amazon tells you that you have too many returns, you have definitely gone overboard.

Here is how to get around the Amazon Return Policy:
Stop buying crap you do not want and screwing the sellers.

It seem to me that there is a LOT more to this story,,,are you Sure that Amazon didn't sent you that E-Mail because they have heard from multiple sellers that you took their refund and returned a box of Rocks?

Im curious as to what is a LOT and over what time period,,,and if "Wifey" is truly resopnsible for all that,,,,then maybe you should get a refund on Her,,,

there is no way you buy A LOT of stuff from amazon unless you are also returning A LOT of stuff..

Its been known that amazon deletes buyers who has a high a-z claim rate and return rate. Its a problem for amazon to deal with such a buyer same as its with amazon to deal with seller.
