Amazon, like eBay, is not entirely predictable. However, usually when someone loses accounts it is because of what they are doing or selling. Amazon has better technology than eBay does, so you have to follow the stealth techniques to the letter - all of them. You also have to keep up with the latest changes, which are discussed here.

Things like DVD's and software should NOT be sold on a new account UNLESS they are titles that are not heavily counterfeited.

VPN's should be avoided.

There are no guarantees, but if you are using your real account and NOT selling knock-offs, you should be OK.

It is TRUE that Amazon "cleans house" each year just before the Christmas season. They have been doing this for a few years now - November and December are NOT the time to start new accounts. It is also true that Amazon is constantly adopting new methods to root out merchants they do not like. That is just how Amazon is.

I have started 4 new accounts since the New Year, and 3 of them are still up and running. The account that died was due to my own mistake. So, I tend to take what everyone says with a grain of salt.
