Default How to deal with scammers wanting returns?

Im starting to get some return requests now...The problem is a few of the items are laptops that are now used. Ive told all return requests that there is a restocking fee on used items and they were ok with it up till now. ... I have someone claming I sold him a used laptop that was damaged and demanding a full refund. Ive told him Ill credit him back minus a restock fee or send him a new one next day air. He wants a complete refund.

How should I deal with this? Im not sure how amazon works but ive read in their help section I have to allow returns but can charge a restocking fee.

Charging a restock fee for used item is certainly within your right. I always wait to receive the item back to actually see if it is legit or a scammer. I usually adjust the restock fee based on the condition of the item.

Ok I just got him to send pictures. He removed the protective plastic from the screen, made a tear in it and put it all back saying I sold him a used one

this is all after I kept telling him Id send a new one out next day air for him

I hate hearing these stories. I have a feeling this thread will be full of stories that make my blood boil.

I find it disgusting when buyers treat little guys like the big box stores and think we have millions/billions to piss away in returns/exchanges/fraud.

Theres not much you can do. Accept their return and refund according.

When you sell online CSS1 you are treated as a big box by buyers but sh!t by the sites you actually sell on. Thats where proper bookkeeping comes into play...

Me personally I have auto return on on amazon as to not even deal with these idiots. Makes life a lot easier

I stood my grounds......and made him go alway with a 10$ credit!

I knew what he was doing, he just didnt want it anymore and was bulling me into taking it backing threating neg feedback and what not.....his last request was that I pay for next day shipping BOTH ways and send him a new one.

I basicly told him to keep his current laptop and ill credit him 10$ for such small issue because the protective plastic was ripped even though it looks like it was removed and put back on. Or I told him to send everything back and there will be a restocking fee.

im good with 10$.

well it realy pisses me of this sort of thing there is us triying to get buy making some money and some twat thinks they can take the piss..
i got a dvd player from e-buyer.com 8 monthes later it broke .so ok i contacet them yes send it back and we will replace /fix it..e-mail stopped making this modle would you like a refund..YES ok..over 6 months old you can have %75 bak of purchess price..OMG arguing for months and i get the %75 back from a company worth millions..

so if you sell on ebay or amazon your screwed with te NEG feedback threat and they know it and hold you to ranson for it..
so thet is another good reson for stealth..LOL..

Time to use some scare tactics of your own in a subtle way.
