Default Scammers

I'm sick of these damn scammers, every time I list an item, the cretins buy and not pay, and surprise surprise their account has been created the same day.

The worst thing is i've had to relist so many times that I've reached the limit for this category now!!!!

Can be done to stop this?, i've done the usual block buyers with no CC, or Paypal account, to no avail.

I called Ebay, they said 'blah blah sorry the system puts this in place there is nothing I can do about it'

I said 'do you think it's fair that I have reached my limit of 10 items and 7 of them have been scammers?'

He say's 'no'.. of course

What an absolute bunch of aholes Ebay are and I would love to have 1 minute with one of these Nigerians.

Paypal is generally more helpful and will likely promise to watch the ebay accounts then you can relay that info to your non-paying buyers. Maybe you angered someone (as I have done twice) who is coming after you???

You can also change your personal information on file with Ebay for a day or two prior to requesting their personal information. Ebay will swap information, even against your will. Much of the time their phone #is not valid and Ebay will shut the account down if that is the case and correct your account regarding any negatives or fees
Also they are to use their real names and real addresses on file with ebay, not business names. When you see a business name, often that is the real person harassing you and the others are just sockpuppets if you will. Usually if you google the business name, you find nothing to validate it. Each time this happened to me I was able to intimidate them in communications, or make it not appealing for them to bother me. I hope you keep us updated

It's not to do with a disgruntled buyer, as this is a brand new account.

I'm pretty sure these are just the usual Nigerian scammers, and it only seems to happen when I list a particular fairly high value item.

Shocking that Ebay staff can't do anything, they said 'oh these limits are in place to protect me' how nice, what an oasis of security Ebay is!.

I'm tempted just to call back until I get through to someone who is more sympathetic to my cause.

Have you had any communications with these buyers? Any emails, with full headers of useful info? Are the accounts still up or are these buyers naru'd?

If you think, there is stuff you might consider doing

Well what generally happens is that I sell to one of these people, I relist because its clearly a scammer, and open a case. Then I get an email a couple of days later from Ebay saying suspicious bidder alert, the user then becomes naru.

You need to click the option that buyer pays right away on buying.

This could also be a competitor creating ⊗⊗⊗⊗ accounts to take some items down and get more sales for themselves. This has happened to me both on eBay and Amazon.

On Amazon, they just put the items into their shopping cart.

Unfortunately, this is fairly easy to do since buyer accounts are not difficult to create, and they don't undergo the same scrutiny as seller accounts.

This happens to me all of the time, so i basically just file non paying buyer disputes against the buyers on ebay, and get my credit back, so i won't have to pay fees for an item that didn't even sell. I don't waste time contacting buyers if they do not pay within 1-3 days. Some people people give the buyers 7 days, NOT ME, NO WAY JOSE!

Its not the inconvenience of it all that gets me, it's the fact that I have reached my selling limit of 10 items in this category when I have only sold two! the rest have been scammers
