Need a suggestion.

I sold a new and sealed box receiver a few days ago, just receive a return request from a buyer stating that inside the package is a different receiver.

I bought this receiver as new, sealed from a major retailer but it's pass the return date to return it back to the retailer so if I accept the return, I am out about $1300.

It's a huge loss but I don't want him to open a case either, should I just deny the return stating that it was new and seal and let him open a case.

I'm hesitate to call Amazon and stating my case since this is a stealth account, but I think I will have to tomorrow.

If you do what you want to do, can your account with stand the consequences of that?

In a case like this though, will Amazon side with the buyer? I'm more concern about Amazon siding with the buyer and I'm out $1300 than the account but I think with a ding ie negative feedback and AtoZ case, my account can still stand. Plus I have two other stealth account active right now.

I had this happen with a laptop....

I stood my grounds and was professional at all times. I kept enforcing that the item was brand new factory sealed and I have an invoice with serial number to prove and if you still want to return the item there will be a 30% restocking fee. I also made an offer of like 15$ or something for the inconvenience it caused him.

He agreed to take the 15$ and went alway.

I hate window shoppers!!!!!

Not saying this will have the same outcome....and if he still enforces a return, scare him and say that high value returns are opened a your local police department just incase he pulls a quick one.;)

If a A-Z claim is lost, does the buyer have to return it?

kenshintr 04-05-2013 03:43 AM

They don't have too, so in essence you'll lose both the item and the money, on top of the ding to your ODR.

Why would they say its lost when the customer has sent mEssage saying its the wrong receiver. Ask the customer what type of receiver is in the box. I would tell them to contact the manufacturer since the item was bought new and sealed. Dnt just take a $1300 loss

No the buyer does not have to return the item in an A-to-Z claim - Amazon has BEEN known to rule automatically in favour of the buyer. My experiences are that a lot of buyers will return it but it isnt obligated

Thats BS.....atleast amazon could deduct the charges from the sellers account to create a prepaid label and have ups come pick up the package for like another 5$ more
