Activity: 0% Longevity: 64% | | Amazon fees and design - Poor
After recently being booted from eBay for low DSR's on shipping times I have decided to look at Amazon...
Wow its really poor, hard to navigate around, poorly designed and messy and the fees!
How can Amazon and eBay be the two main players...
Anyway even so its fees are poor, is Amazon worth bothering with for UK sellers? I sell all different types of items, some low value and some mid value. Do small things actually sell, do people trust Amazon because when looking at some items on Amazon it looks so sloppy that I have never bothered with it.
Any testimonials would be appreciated. Thanks
EDIT: Just looked at their postage system too, they take less than half of what it costs to post an item!

Your right gdsco...
Honestly I used my girlfriends about 2 years ago, stuck a piece of software on and it sold straight away. I remember not getting the money for weeks, but it sold and I didnt have communicate with the buyer... Unlike eBay who wants you to send an email to say thanks for the payment, when its been dispatched and to beg for feedback. Which to me is harassment, I hate those emails!
I am going to try it... I just wanted some thoughts on how well things sell and if anyone gets any hassle from its buyers.

Hi,
Selling is great on amazon, takes a few days to get use to it if you have been selling on eBay for a while. All I will say is sell slow for a while and open a few accounts, also keep account in good shape eg emails, feedback, post items quick the usually stuff.

PLEASE dont compare the 2. Amazon is more of a professional site. Its a personal takes looks wise but once you get use to it most ppl prefer amazon as unlike ebay you dont have to look through 5000 listings to find the one you want as 1 sellers decides to make a million listings for their 1 product.

The Ghost guide covers Amazon well + read around the forums to understand NEW issues. Amazon is a tougher beast than eB and they can hurt you if you dont operate very well by stealth

On amazon co uk, selling is OK so long as you apply yourself & stay within the rules.
Before you 'go live', do read this sub forum in depth. amazon needs to be treated carefully. |

You can buy stuff on Ebay and sell it on Amazon.
Good luck doing that the other way around. Enough said.

I'm trying amazon as well, the best part is i don't need to go stealth because i've never been banned, I'm invincible pretty much.

Ive never had an Amazon account either, so im free to start fresh...
Guess its worth reading here what to do and not to do though... Ie dont sell things they dont like, ship the moment payment is made (or is that just ebay) etc

You are having the benefit of going stealth at the start, I would strongly suggest you do. They are very strict, my first two got closed down, Go stealth to learn from all your mistakes. I have a few now and run each nice and slow, seems to work.
Good luck when you start.

No way.
Would not last because of the chaos.
