post office messed up
 

Dropped off packages at post office. instead of scanning accepted they scanned delivered. Dumb @ss! Packages were mailed but show delivered at my post office. now this invites claims!!I'm screwed went to post office tjey said it would be scanned at delivered point.Yeah ok says the same thing 2 weeks later. delivered the day I dropped off. scams are rolling in...:eek:

you amazon luck is the worst. you need to complain to supervisor at the PO let them know that they are putting your business at risk with the slacking

I feel for you.. sometimes that happens to me too.

Hopefully its low value stuff, otherwise maybe ship with signature confirmation, going to be hard for them to screw that up.

Talk to the PO then call police onsight and i swear that they will start to help you. Unfortunatly this happens sometimes but dont let the PO staff try to rip you off (yes PO workers are sneaky *******s sometimes) :thumb:

I had this happening all the time with an idiot po worker who came to my home for daily pick ups.

They would not do anything with this idiot so I called the post master and told them, listen, I give you 1000s of dollars worth of business and you have one person who forgets to scan several of my packages.

Either fire this idiot or send me someone who cares or is smart enough to do the job correctly or I will be heading over the UPS with my business.

2 days later I got me a new driver!!

Some workers just dont care.

Was also just tossing my packages around like they were dirt. I ended that real quick myself with a little confrontation.

Do you know the box you just tossed in a 1000 piece of glassware?

PO idiot-- What??? I should have looked at it first.

Me-- No you dont need to be tossing my boxes around like that in the first place.

PO idiot- Well if you packed them well they will be ok.

Me-- No if you did your job right you would not need to be tossing my boxes.

Glad that worked out for you Sandy - sometimes even a talk-to isnt enough. Dont have the option here for pick-up so deal directly with post office - can see everything that goes on.

That's shocking the Post Office has put you in a bad place.
Get right on to them to cover yourself.

Guy filed a claim today for his package.He is taking advantage since the Item was not scanned correctly. I contacted him and said I know you are scamming me.only 1 other person tried this. So I know they all received their packages.

Typically the tracking number coincides with the address of origin and the destination address.

Most of the smaller post offices do not even scan the packages. They send the packages to the regional post office where all the sorting occurs. When the package is scanned it defaults back to the zip code of origin.

I have had shipments within my zip code that have gone out to the sorting facility and back to the post office which they started at.

I have also had shipments that have gone clear to the East Coast and back to the West Coast.

Sad that you have run into a buyer who takes advantage of the error.

Hopefully the Post Office can do something to prevent issues again.

OP should really change post offices - I cant trust staff to not repeat mistakes

OP should take steps to ensure things are done properly

but i would definitely change post offices

stress to the next one about mistakes that were made before and how it harmed your business

Moving to new poffice. Tracking does not change. I think once scanned delivered that is it. Scan won't change.I believe it has to be done manually on the sytem. PO is lazy so I have to eat it?? chalk it for lesson learned.

Let your old post office know.... even to make yourself feel better.

At this new one, make it known from the start, not to mess you around. If they do not get told, their lack of service will go on.

Go postal on them.

Just shipped out a package three days ago I am in southern Cal, destination 5 miles away. Checked tracking yesterday and package went to Oakland 500 miles away and then came back and was delivered yesterday. There is the USPS for you

A package of mine shipped a few days ago, somehow the trackings says it was in another state and had a date if 2012 ... good thing the latest update was in april 24th 2012 or the customer will go crazy. There is another package of mine the got route to the other side of the country and hasn't been delievered.. and the customer open a case on ebay :/

Royal Mail in the UK does this too.

Have to be aware of either country's hopeless services.
