Suspended FBA account Bad Metrics

Had to share this with you all. The account has now been reinstated, but was suspended cos of bad metrics, late shipping, damaged cases in feedback etc. Explained to amazon this was an FBA account and all the poor metrics were down to amazon's performance not mine. The account reopened several hours later. Just made me laugh, but shows that amazon are not perfect.

I hope it works out for you, but knowing Amazon, they could come back and say the merchandise was shoddy to begin with. Amazon does not usually like to admit they are wrong.

Goes to prove how much of Amazon is actually run by software, and sometimes it takes a human touch to set things right. I would guess that Amazon is probably 90% computerized. That's why we can do what we do, outsmart the software!! :smash:

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

To get them to acknowledge that is a feat in itself.

Glad you had enough practice with amazon to push for resolution.

Be careful in the future. They may try this again.

The account was not deleted, but suspended. I just did the appeal process.

Amazon makes PLENTY of mistakes from what ive experience personally. But one thing I find about them its their stellar customer service.

I have had Amazon's computer suspend my account for using certain words in my listing. I called them and they told me what words I was using and reinstated my account.

n8zzz 06-09-2013 02:06 PM

Yeah, they don't like words such as "authentic" or "new" in the title. Was it something like that? I'd really like to know so that I don't make the same mistakes.. the more you know ^^

Kelly441 06-09-2013 03:05 PM

It was a few weeks before Christmas. I put something like "not guaranteed to be delivered by Christmas"

I had to reword it to say something like "you may not get it by the 25th"

I was getting tired of all the buyers messaging me and telling me they needed it before Christmas. What ticked me off is that none of them upgraded to Expedited shipping.

n8zzz 06-09-2013 04:09 PM

This made me lawl. I guess Christmas is too politically incorrect. You really don't get a true understanding of just how stupid the average person is... until you begin selling on Amazon or ebay. Especially around xmas time. You can have a customer order something on a Saturday night and leave you a bad feedback on Monday because they're wondering where their item is. I could write a book on stupid people thanks to all my experiences in this business.

"This job would be great if it wasn't for the customers."

AllAboutStealth 06-09-2013 05:52 PM

I sell small cheap items in large quantity so I can say I get ALOT of these and I have a new story to tell my friends how many stupid ppl there are and what type of complaints they have.

I always use "new in factory box", bad?

Ha yes - typical...trying to get fast service but not willing to cover the cost for expedited....it is annoying, I feel that

I highly recommend not doing that. If you create a bunch of listings with that in the title, it could eventually piss Amazon off.

Not only that, but man, I would never waste that much real estate in a title. Gotta keep it as short and simple as possible while using all the important keywords that apply (model #, etc). The pictures and bullet points within the listing should speak for itself in regards to the condition.. and to be honest "new in factory box" is not enough to ward off other sellers if that is what you're attempting to do.

Straight from the horse's mouth:

The inclusion of any of the following information in detail page titles, descriptions, bullet points, or images is prohibited:

-Pornographic, obscene or offensive content.
-Phone numbers, physical mail addresses, e-mail addresses, or website URLs.
-Availability, price, condition, alternative ordering information (such as links to other websites for placing orders), or alternative shipping offers (such as free shipping).
-Spoilers regarding Books, Music, Video or DVD (BMVD) listings (information that reveals plot elements crucial to the suspense, mystery or surprise ending of a story).
-Reviews, quotes or testimonials.
-Solicitations for positive customer reviews.
-Advertisements, promotional material, or watermarks on images, photos or videos.
-Time-sensitive information (i.e., dates of promotional tours, seminars, lectures, etc.).

Always ask yourself this: Even if Amazon lets me get away with this, can my competition legitimately report me for breaching Amazon's policies? If yes, don't do it, other sellers will find ways to bring you down; you need to be squeaky clean.

GreenBean 06-11-2013 06:28 PM

Ah yes, 'squeaky clean' AND in stealth mode.

Take that amazon.
