The Problem With VPN

Is the major problem with VPN the fact that providers often use overseas IP addresses? This would seem to be a pretty big issue. But what about a VPN service that uses US IP's?

I was looking at this one specifically:
https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/slickdeals4

Does anyone have any experience with them or an idea of how well the service might work for Amazon accounts? Thanks!

The major problem is that the VPN's are easily detectable. eBay and Amazon have lists of VPN IP address ranges.

For a VPN to work, you would have to OWN the IP address. It would have to be in the same area as your stealth account. It CANNOT be in a "pooled" environment.

The problem with VPN is that every Tom, Dick & Harry overused the services.

Too high a majority were 'decent', respectable or whatever word you would like to attach.

The different ecommerce sites recognises the VPN. Accounts are flagged and too often the results are bad.

VPN and amazon is not a combination I would put together.

VPN & ebay/paypal is the same.

Alternatives exist.

Problem is with at least a large brand VPS they would probably give you an IP that was used by a previous customer perhaps on EB OR AM so its a gamble? right?

Getting a static IP is not a guarantee it was never used in the past for stealth and got busted.

I use an obscure provider (because more people like Windows based VPS) a linux based service that limits the chance of a re-assigned (perhaps unbeknown) bad IP thats linked.

Its over 6m now on VPS and stealth is running with EB/PP verified and confirmed with mobile also registered for PP balance transactions ect..

So far Ok will be opening another stealth on a new VPS soon

n8zzz much better options exist in the US (if you are based there) - dongles, cell tethering are 2 examples.

Thank you for the replies. I have the other options in place and all seems well, I was just wondering about this because it provides extra security for some of my other, non-amazon-selling needs. :thumb:

Other needs...well that would depend on what those are. For Amazon (and other selling platforms), does not offer security and could cause flags to be drawn up
