Default Vanilla Visa - AMZN

I'm almost ready to open my stealth account on AMZN. I'm just held-up on a few details concerning gift card options...

I will probably go to Walmart and get a Vanilla Visa (as they are reliable to pass AVS). But as I read through the forums, I get some conflicting advice.

Is $25 too low of a gift card amount? Should I do $100?
Is it ok if I get a fixed gift card? Or is re-loadable better?

Lastly, I need to register and verify my zip code (once I get the card), correct?

Thank you for your help!!

Out of curiosity...did you check the Marketplace and the 'buy, sell or trade'? You can get some cards on there for VCC for MUCH cheaper than 25.00 that will pass AMZN AVS...

You don't need to put a hundred in the card. 20 to 25 is good enough
Don't buy the re-loadable card cause it need your real information.

The $25 for a Vanilla Visa isn't the actual cost of the card. In essense the only real cost is $5 for activating the card, the $20 that u load can be used for anything.

Yeah I know- but I saw some people in that section charging a mere 10.00 for a VCC
(that you still can use for anything)
why pay 5 to get card and 20 to load

when you can just pay 10.00 for the whole thing?

(forgive me for being El cheapo- AMZN is still holding 2K of mine and every penny counts...lol)

Here, (cuz I get the cards all the time) you have to buy the card for anywhere between 3.95-4.95, and then you HAVE to load it with at least 20.00. so yes, that's about 25.00.

I'd rather pay 10.
I'm cheap.

vanilla visa is 2.88 at walmart. so 2.88 + your 25 load. I spend 20 bucks and leave 5 bucks in it. or you can roll 20 bucks into another card if you're planning to have multiple accounts.

Online its cheaper. If you go into a store it's higher. :( Unfortunately.
I *WISH* they'd charge me 2.88 to buy it in the store.

I used to use giftcards--com if I ever needed one fast to send to myself for something...not bad- and saved me time (still cost 4.95 however, but you can manage it online and change addresses a few times)

My only advice about buying a VCC for Amazon is go get one that does not expire quickly. Some expire in as little as 3 months.

Correct me if wrong but the VCC might expire and then the card would fail a random test charge of Amazon....leading to problems with account.

That's why you need a cc with a balance...

I just buy the vanillavisa at OfficeDepot, the $25 one and I make sure that it doesn't expire until 2021. I remember reading on here that any card expire sooner doesn't work.

Amazon does random test charges of up to $10 (even some have report 15-20$ but this was way back in 2010/11)
