My listing deleted after another seller hijacked it?

Hi all, just hoping someone can shed some light:

I created a listing a 7 months back, with pictures that I took myself.

2 months ago, another seller (who is featured) hijacked my listing using my own pictures etc.

Now all of a sudden, my listing as been deleted. When I tried to relist, it says I can't because the item is restricted, but I still see the other selling the same item using my OWN pictures.

What gives?

Thanks in advance!

He took over and blocked you - he complained on you and now has rights to the photo likely...you need to take the photos and stamp up, watermark or namestamp them.

Time to complain to Amazon - havent had this happen to me on Az but wait for others to comment with process to follow

If it is your own list I think you will have a ability to edit it right? Add a bunch of add-on items and let him eat that.

Did your pictures have any watermark on it?

If your picture has a watermark it is against Amazons rules. Amazon probably wont catch it but another seller can bring it to their attention and then they will remove that image. I had to do this when someone uploaded a photo to the product page that was aftermarket and not name brand. The picture had a watermark on it and was promptly brought down.

Is the UPC code registered to you?

tintin 09-24-2013 09:12 PM

Re: My listing deleted after another seller hijacked it?

NO, UPC code is universal

Can I put my seller name on my pictures?

Why not - if it`s your listing - complain and fight back...will be tough though

Thanks everyone!

Amazon says watermarks are not allowed, so is that different from just putting your seller name on the picture?

Just wondering if that is a fine line to walk?

Also, if pictures are deemed not acceptable, does?

1. Amazon just delete the picture, and the listing is still active without pics?

or

2. Will Amazon delete the listing altoghter?

sorry, rewind. Can you share more information regarding the original hijack?

Were any messages swapped between the two sellers?

How long did this take?

What steps occurred to allow your listing to become hijacked?

This is not something I have seen.

regards!

Re: My listing deleted after another seller hijacked it?

I think I understand what happened.

I originally place the listing in a non-restricted category. He latched on to my listing as another seller of the same item.

He then got approval I guess to list in a restricted category and then my listing as made "inactive" and I could not relist as it was a restricted category.

I am going to try get pre-approval for that category.

I've got over 60 sales and over 10 Positive FB 100% since March 2013, so do you guys think Amazon will trust me now?

Hard to say but you do need to get in contact with Az immediately to get back and get at this other seller if he is the culprit

Sorry. No, I can't even edit the listing any longer. It just keeps saying the listing is restricted.

I agree, but am afraid to draw attention to myself. What I've learned from this forum is to keep a low profile and rather let it go than contact AZ or Ebay support/personnel

True point tintin but if it`s a major source of revenue for you...you might have to fight

I can do that? Replace it with the current UPC code on the product?

Thanks!

Luckily, it is my lowest selling item - maybe 1 or 2/week at most, but my other versions of this item are my main sellers and afraid to lose those :(

Re: My listing deleted after another seller hijacked it?

This is amazon, not ebay.

Certain methods are needed to deal with them.

Cowboy behavior often does more damage to the reporting seller than a supposed cuplrit.

To help, here's the so damn well laid out rules regarding images it is mind boggling. Simply put the listing will fail if it does not make the standards.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...deId=200202110

Check if you can acquire the UPC to get unique ownership of the item.

Submit an application to amazon outlining your past history with the account. Show your good feedback and express your eagerness to keep on selling.
This is not an appeal but request for consideration to get back what was yours. Avoid accusations. Be professional.
