I sold an iPhone 5 to a customer and shipped the item out with tracking and I have the tracking number that shows as delivered. The customer filed an A-Z guarantee claim saying that he never received the item. Amazon automatically sided with the customer and refunded the order because I didn't put a signature option on the shipping. BUT THE TRACKING SHOWS DELIVERED. Anyways, I am now in negative -$550 for the last month. I closed my bank account and changed my credit card because I feel I should not be ripped off like this.
I received generic emails that others have received in the past, but today I received a different email similar to the one another member received few months ago that I've linked below:
I have searched everywhere online and there hasn't been a case where amazon has sent negative balances to collection. I sold the item on Amazon UK but I am not a European citizen. Can they do anything from a collection point of view? Have they done this in the past?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
Anyway I asked amazon about negative balance and they said legally they have to wait a certian time, I think they said 60 days, before they can do debt collection or file a debt with credit agency for negative balance
How long ago did you hear this from Amazon? Because when I called they couldn't provide me any info on what measures they would take. Also there are many people on the forum who have had accounts not go into collection for years. I can't seem to find one case about them going to collections which is why I'm confused.
Amazon is an ongoing business. If the details for you are correct then you can guarantee they will do everything possible to get that money.
If they have the means then they will take it.
However it's important to note the only way they can legally do this is under their terms and conditions is through your credit card.
They will try and get this money. But depending on the details you have given them there does become a point where chasing you is not worth their time/ resources.
Ive also heard that they usually wait upto 60 days before using collections but I have an account in negative in september and its now december and they have approached for payment.it had semi correct details .
doesnt mean we dont need to settle but in terms of them approaching collections ,i havent seen that in my case (neg is above $6k)
I have one account have neg balance of ~$40 for over 1 year now. I don't have any list with that account but the account still show active and no email from Amazon about this neg balance.
Account on hold pending further research is only when someone is trying to buy items and the credit card information doesn't match. See below:
It appears your account and order are on hold pending further research. This could be due to incorrect or incomplete billing and shipping address information.
