VPS servers and IPS

When using VPS, is it smarter to get a server for each of my accounts rather than use one server with 5 different IPs for amazon accounts?

Even smarter would be to use alternative options espcially if you are USA based.

If you go the VPS route, you have to get a server each.

You can get multiple IPs for 1 server but it doesn't work the way you think it does/want it to, for eBay & Amazon accounts.

i would think a server for each account would be easier.

I have never been a huge fan of the VPS method. YES, they are definitely more convenient, but they are also riskier in my opinion. Especially the $5 per month cheapies listed in the first page of Google.

That is not to say that VPS's cannot work. They CAN, but you REALLY need to know what you are doing and choose the right provider. The cheaper ones are not always stable, they come and go frequently. Or, you server is in Chicago when you sign up, but then six months later the IP is showing up in China.

I thought so. Using a server for each account would be better. Given that amazon looks at other things besides your IP address within your OS.
In reply to joew8989's comment regarding the stealth book. I would like to say,
"You're wrong." The stealth book does not contain allot of information regarding VPS. It needs an update.
In reply to Greenie's comment regarding smarter alternative. I would like to say,
"You're right." There may be methods that are smarter and more cost effective but they have faults. I prefer VPS because it's faster, it saves time and I can multitask with 2 different computers.
Thank you mcmx. "You're right."
In reply to jeffweico's comment regarding the risk of VPS. "You're right." I guess I have to find the right provider and not get screwed over.

Thank you all for your help.

Actually I do not disagree with any of that BUT.....

I wear a tin-foil hat. I prefer to not have my amazon accounts on the one type of system.

Now, I am totally OTT about this. I do the same for ebay. My accounts present me as a totally unique person. I do as much as possible to avoid linking myself.

Users have been suspended where VPS was part of their set-up. This goes over to how the accounts were created. this is related to how amazon detects links.

Hence, I would still recommend other options.

Re: VPS servers and IPS

I did get suspended when I used a proxy, but appealed and was reinstated. I continue to use the same proxy. My accounts from my original (non-proxy) IP address...all suspended and never reinstated.

I don't think any one Proxy is better than the other, but I would avoid any proxy that gives you a traceable IP going to some place far away from where you are. e.g. shows you in Albania when you are in New Hampshire.

One thing I do not know is...does every person who logs into a given proxy get the same IP, or is one IP assigned to each account? I do know that I always get the same IP address and this is an untraceable one.

Another final word: I never found a free proxy that worked for secure sites like EBAY. I had to pay for one, although it is inexpensive.

Re: VPS servers and IPS

Proxies are a huge "no no", they are more likely to get flagged over any other connection, as they are typically detectable. I have tried multiple ways to avoid detection. They were all GEO Targeted, Private and Dedicated, tried different user accounts, virtual machines and even different PC's. These were from different reputable sources in the internet marketing world.

I'm in the process of setting up a few more accounts with my new mobile setup, but I have had good success with a few different unnamed VPS companies (think small).

Personally, I still think a VPS would be your best bet. But that's just my experience. I don't mind paying $20/month for a return of over $1k :)

What about using the same VPS server with multiple IPs and install Vmware on the server?

this is not on topic but what do you give amazon when they ask for tax info and you already used your SS#?

First off, probably NOT. Most if not all companies have only so many Static IP's. So they will assign you one IP - that is it. You may get allowed to get a different one if your nice with their support - but then that old one is in the cycle and if you buy another VPS you may get your old IP (always keep track of IPs!).

If you change the IP, what ever program you use to connect the VPS may not update - nor does your portal know where to connect to, brings up more issues..

Going with that.. it will depends whom you go with. VMware literally makes an OS run inside of an OS. I run VMware Windows XP, and give the machine ~3GB ram and 2 of my cores to use.

I have issues with more than 10-12 user with XP (due to lag on login screen).

SO I just have several VM images - ebay 1, ebay 2, etc. Each has 10 accounts. :)
