Lower sales on Amazon. Need advise.

I have a general question regarding selling on Amazon.
I started selling on Amazon after eBay account got suspended.
From what I have read in this forum/googled, amazon is
suppose to be a better platform to sell, and I am suppose
to get more traffic and sales overall. So far it has been
very slow for me compare to what I had on eBay.

I started selling at around Dec 10th and not even getting close to sales
I have had with my suspended ebay account. I am selling cellphone
and gaming accessories. A very specific niche that is more appearance
related.
I currently have about 300 items listed, and get an average of 120
views per day, when on ebay I used to reach about 500 views.
So low traffic and sales. I spoke to amazon rep trying to figure out if I was
doing anything wrong. All seems to be OK. They just told me to give
it more time.
Is it more feedback that i need or something?
By the way, all the item I list are not with existing EAN. I am basically listing
new items that were never there. Not sure if it has do to with it.

Hope to get some tips from anyone here.

In my opinion, once you get the buy box your sales will increase.

- Many of items moving good on eBay but not Amazon and maybe your items are in this groups
- If you just created new products it will take time to get traffics
- Try to get some feedback to get away with the "Just Launched" status

aleen, could you explain what do you mean by "once you get the buy box"?
When am I suppose to get it?
I understand that buy box appears to buyers before adding the item to
their shopping cart and they could choose which seller to go with?
If this is the case, my item would be the only one in the buy box becasue
as I mentioned they are unique, and no other seller sells the exact same product.
In other words - I purchased new EAN barcodes to each of the items I sell.
TonyAlmeida, yes I thought because my products are new to Amazon it might be the
reason for the low traffic. I will have to give it more time I guess.

There is your problem. If there is already an established listing then use that.

Also, you need to be creative with your search key words when creating your own listing.

Also, sales tend to be a bit slower for 3-4 weeks after Christmas.

Well, at least now I know why I don't sell as much as I thought I would.
All my items are currently new to Amazon. I did try to create a large variety
search key words. Hopefully sales will go up soon.

Yeah give it time. Also, when it starts to take off don't be discouraged when others sell on your listing. Unless you own the product and copyrights it's hard to be the only one selling on a listing.

Get your grandmother to buy one and leave a 5 star review. Good reviews bring good sales.

Generally that's true but depends what you sell. I sell mostly items that considered add-ons to popular Christmas gifts. For me January is always busiest month. This one is on track to be best month ever by far.
