Shipping is Fair becuase of weather

Because of the last big storm my 30 day shipping dipped below 97 percent and is fair. I need to get these numbers back up so I changed my shipping settings to only include the 48 states, no APOs, Alaska or Hawaii. I printed a label for an item a few days ago but con not ship it till tomorrow and I know it will be a late delivery. Should I create a new label and update the tracking, will that change that it is delivered on time or does Amazon go by the purchase date to calculate on time delivery?

Also, I am in fear that this late shipping could trigger a review. Is this metric as likely to trigger a review as much as ODR? Some on the forum have said that they don't even use tracking on a good percentage of their items and their account never goes into review. You would think they would take into account the holidays and storms for sub par shipping. I mean good grief they would have to review a lot more accounts than normal.

The on time delivery and uploaded tracking percentages dont seem to be as crucial as the ODR.

Ive had both, uploaded tracking and on time delivery percentage dip into the low 90s and it never created an issue for me. But I shipped everything "same day" for about two weeks to pull them back above 97% as quickly as possible.

Well that's good to hear. My 30 day is around 95, but my 90 day is still over 97 percent.

You seem to be confusing late shipping with late delivery. It is possible to ship late but still arrive on time. Depends on the service you use and your fulfillment windows

I never have late shipments. I always print the label and confirm tracking within two days.

What happened was I had 10 items I was waiting on that should have arrived on a Monday but because of the storm I got them on Friday.

I know it's risky selling thing before you have them on hand

Maybe it works differently for those of us who ship out of other countries.

To retain my top rates sellers status I have to ship within 24 hours (except for weekends). Whereas in fact I only ship twice a week.

If I cant ship with tracking within the required time frame I just enter a "dummy" tracking number then change it for the real one later. Only one time did a buyer notice and I just told her my assistant wrote the wrong details on her paperwork.

Ive also used genuine tracking numbers from another package (not an Ebay one) which show the item as being "in transit". In my experience its only USA buyers who are at all bothered about tracking numbers. They may check to see that the package is on its way but rarely do so again unless its delayed.

Is this principle relevant for domestic shipping only?
