There is absolutely zero way for Amazon, eBay or anyone to see your MAC undress unless you specifically allow it. A website requesting such would raise serious security issues and your browser would warn you of this.

I was checking, according to the book we needed a new mac address.
Currently amazon do not trace your MAC address. The book was written a few years ago and was wrote to be the safest option possible. But it did get the MAC address part wrong. There are plenty of people who operate without touching their MAC address. Myself included
