Can you please clarify when you say BOA allows mismatched names ? Does it mean I can give a different name to the marketplace for a bank account number ? Then when the marketplace (Barnes and Noble in this case) makes a direct deposit to the BOA account, BOA will accept the payment even though the account name with BN is different ?

Is this also true for Wells Fargo ?

Thanks.

INDIA is your country.

Not USA.

That is correct. On two of my stealth account I use BOA (saving & checking), both have mismatch name. The PayPal transfer also have the made up name show up in the BOA deposit transaction.

I'm currently using two local credit union, BOA, US Banks and Citibank. I heard from someone while browsing the forum that Wells Fargo is more strict about mismatch name so I haven't try them yet. Might try them when I decide to create more stealth.

I find it better to put the deposit in the name of the business in case they question it you could show them your EIN letter from IRS

I would keep the amounts reasonable. If you start moving $5,000+ per month, they will look at the account more closely.

It is better to say that mismatched names will WORK with BOA. That isn't the same thing as ALLOWING them. If they look closely at the account, it could be closed. It has happened to other members. Having said that, I have had 5 accounts at BOA for about 4 years and I have had no issues.

Wells Fargo is not so good. Avoid them.

BoA work provided the accounts are used sensibily.

Making transfers monthly to other banks is not suitable.

@glacier922

Please re-read what I said.

The bank is not so good. Customers have had issues with this bank.

Rather than have another thread go off topic, do a quick search for Wells Fargo to catch up on the info.

@greenie

Ok, sure thing. I could have sworn I read Wells Fargo was all good, so I opened one a couple of weeks ago. Now I see threads from 2011 that says they have problems.

I just put in my Wells Fargo acct for the PayPal deposits literally 15 minutes ago. We'll see how it goes. Last bump on this topic for me.

Good luck - keep the forum posted - Wells Fargo has caused some issues but hopefully it will go through for you without problems.
