which categories are restricted to new sellers?

Amazon wouldn't let me list anything health & beauty category

this is a new account

i started the account as none pro. then i tried to switch to pro to see if that made a difference

i take it they have restricted health & beauty recently?

You need to apply for an approval, Same is for apparel, shoes, etc. You will need to go through a process

Yes. They will likely want to see a website that you sell your products through so they can have a look at your inventory.

And they will want you to send them at least five photos with a transparent background.

Some categories as the above posters mentioned are restricted but more so specific items from categories are also restricted to only approved sellers.

categories/items that have high complaint rate and counterfeit rate are restricted for obvious reasons.
