If the account is healthy it should be no issue.

Before I was suspended (for something else) I often have over 1000 orders still, after every day's dispatch

No, no orders are held under ''pending''.
Also, the items I am selling are the same as I've been selling for close to a year, not suddenly completely new/unrelated items.

A year old account is pretty much in the legit category and shouldn't get suspended immediately for a large number of order going through. I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon does a review on your account the day before your disbursement. They'll want to wait around 30 days after the mass of the orders to make sure that deliveries happen and not a bunch of A-to-z's. In my opinion, you will be fine as long as you fulfill those in a quick dedicated manner.
