Looking a cable service if you want to run stealth :) |
| Dmshark25 | 08-06-2014 09:11 AM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? I guess if they give you 5 new IP addresses than u would be able to create 5 new accounts |
Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? Make sure to log and keep track of the 5 IPs used vis-a-vis the account then |
| az123 | 08-06-2014 01:04 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? thank you for the response, meaning i don't have to worry about changing the ip on my modem? |

| Dmshark25 | 08-06-2014 03:36 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? If u are able to get 5 new IPs and the max number of accounts that u want is 5 than u will be good,
How many times would they change IPs for you? And is that something they do for free? |
| az123 | 08-06-2014 07:54 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? i called att today. the tech says, amazon and ebay cannot see the routers mac on combined router and modem gadget. he research is there anyway possible, he put me on hold and came back and says no way. i don't know if ihes right. i ordered a new set of static ip. its a block of ip for extra $15 a month on u-verse business account. you can get new set a often as you need it,but they will bill every month. i have 5 pc, and will assign 1 each to the computer. Tony, does it make sense? i don't know if i have to change internet provider to get a separate modem and router to change routers mac. i will be looking for your response. thanks |
| az123 | 08-06-2014 07:57 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? im concern about the routers mac, and the tech says no way to change it,i can get a new modem router but still in one and will get a new mac on router. but yes, u-verse can provide static ips and its a bundle of 5, you can get 8 or 10 ups as well. |
| az123 | 08-06-2014 08:01 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? dmshark25, the original ip that goes with the modem is free, but can't pull it out on my pc if i search it on ipburger.com or whatismyip.com. what pulls out is 1 of the 5 static ip that i assign on it. |

too risky.

| AmaStealth | 08-06-2014 08:55 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? And why would you assign one ip address to "5" different computers/computer users? Seems like a little bit too much work, eh?
Just buy a dongle from Virgin mobile and be done with it. |

:nono: | Az123 GB is right here, with Amazon it is a lot more difficult and having 5 static IPs from one ISP may be too similar and your accounts will be linked
You need to really make yourself look different with Amazon, lot harder than eBay, which by the way is also tightening up and making registration a lot more difficult
You may need to go with a new ISP |

I gave up with ATT couple years ago and go with cable. It make my life much easier :) |
| TonyAlmeida | 08-06-2014 09:26 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? I would go with cable internet and pick the cheapest plan for less than $30 a month. I can get more than 5 different IP at the same time :) |

Just buy a dongle from Virgin mobile and be done with it. | 5 computer, 5 different ip |
| MazziNation | 08-31-2014 02:58 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? OK.... a bit of a complicated multiple choice question: I too have the ATT-Uverse problem.
I can change ISPs or buy a doogle, but the real problem is that I am currently in Austin, Tx but plan to relocate back to Cambodia in the future, where my prior account was suspended. (I will be taking the same laptop with me.)
What is my best option? A VPS? Or will changing to a Cambodian IP re-link me possibly?
Other safe options to suggest? I guess Teamviewer but that is really slow. Is a VPS the best option? |
| The_Cynic | 08-31-2014 10:19 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? They can't read your MAC address, only other nodes on your LAN can read your MAC address, don't sweat the MAC.
Sweat the fact that you are probably listing the same inventory from the same city as your old account. Sweat the fact that they have browser fingerprinting and you surf the same sites on your browser as you did on on your previous account that was banned.
Just my 2
Cheers! |
| yankee | 08-31-2014 10:31 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? Your IP's are going to be consecutive number. About worthless for longevity. |
| MICKY H | 08-31-2014 11:51 PM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? az123, you seem to be making life for yourself very difficult. First, not wanting to be disrespectful you seem to be a beginner in life of Stealth, so why would you want to run 5 accounts, the chances of making a mistake is high and then all accounts would be linked. Why 5 pc's all you need is one PC with five users set up on that PC, this saves you money and also having a room full of pc's. Next, just get an ATT,T Mobile dongle, every time you eject this you will get a new IP. Just my advice, make it simple and everything becomes easy. |
| BiN4RY | 09-01-2014 01:14 AM | Re: combined router and modem can't change mac? You can only change the MAC address using these router/modem combo devices if you can put the device into bridge mode.
What bridge mode does is basically let the device work mostly as a modem. Any computers connected to the device in bridge mode (no matter if it's wireless or wired) gets "bypassed" by the router portion of the device, and is connected directly to the modem instead. Thus, the modem directly sees the MAC address of your computer instead of the MAC address of the router portion of the device, which allows you to change it freely.
I'm not sure how it is for US ISPs, but here in Canada, Shaw will actually flash a custom firmware to disable the router portion of the device all together if you call them, making the device work solely as a modem. This is extremely convenient.
Telus is another ISP here in Canada, while they won't offer any services to turn your device solely into a modem like Shaw, but a backdoor password exists for the device's web interface, which allows you to change hidden settings including putting the device into bridge mode. |
