Default Help!! Anyone received this email from Amazon?

Hello from Amazon,

Please read this email carefully, as the listing restriction described below may affect your ability to sell DVDs.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a great shopping experience, beginning November 17, 2014, only approved sellers will be eligible to list DVDs with Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) of $25 or greater. (Note: the MSRP is the same as the "List Price" on the Product Detail Page.) We are implementing this restriction because these products may have a higher risk of authenticity issues.

Based on your current performance, you are eligible to apply to sell DVDs with MSRPs of $25 or greater. The application process is described below. You will not be eligible to list DVDs with MSRPs of $25 or greater after November 17 unless your application is approved. Your eligibility to list DVDs with MSRPs of less than $25 or Blu-rays is not affected by this restriction.

Any listings by unapproved sellers for DVDs with MSRPs of $25 or greater will be removed on November 16, 2014. Relisting products you are not approved to sell or creating duplicate listings may result in the immediate suspension or removal of your selling privileges.

To begin an application, click here:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/case-dashboard/workflow-details.html/ref=id_xx_cont_201513080?ie=UTF8&extraArguments={% 22caseCategory%22%3A%22dvd%22}&workflowId=10

If you apply and you do not have an account with a Professional selling plan, you must agree to sign up for a Professional selling plan within 30 days after your application is approved. A Seller Support associate will follow-up to request additional information to complete your application. At that time, you will need to provide the following to the Seller Support associate:

1) Your primary source(s) of inventory
2) A minimum of three (3) invoices or purchase orders for inventory with MSRP greater than $25 that you plan to sell
3) A written summary of processes you have in place to prevent inauthentic goods from entering your inventory

Your application will be evaluated based on the information you supply.

If you use Fulfillment by Amazon, you will need to create a removal or disposal order for any DVD products you have not been approved to sell after November 17. We will waive fees for any removal or disposal order for these products starting now through January 16, 2015. For assistance creating a removal or disposal order, please review this Help page:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...deId=200280670

Note that removal or disposal orders received in the fourth quarter may require additional processing time.

As a reminder, sellers are responsible for ensuring the quality of their products and should carefully review all sources of inventory. For more information, see our policies:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...deId=201166010

Customers trust they can always buy with confidence on Amazon.com, and this listing restriction is intended to help preserve that trust. Seller feedback is important to us. You can provide feedback by emailing dvd-seller-feedback@amazon.com.

Thank you for selling on Amazon.

how would I go about doing that. I have been looking for wholesalers that sell the same items I sell at a reasonable price & have not found any. I buy some of my DVDs in my inventory from flea markets, craigslist, garage sales etc....I do not have an invoice for all those transactions. Is there a way around it? any advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

If you cant provide Amazon with the info they need then sorry to say you wont beable to sell those dvds.

I will admit sometimes I will buy dvds on sale at retail stores and resell them on Amazon and the profit can be 15$+ per dvd but im out of that game now.

I have not had one return on any DVD, they were great profits because of that :/

amazon does stuff like this every year before holiday season as ppl can make so much money with f@ke dvds that they are trying to prevent buyers from purchasing those during the hot holiday season.

From the letter that he posted, it sounds like this is permanent. I always thought something like this would eventually happen. There were just too many sellers of counterfeits trying to sell on Amazon. So, now they are requiring pre-approval to sell most DVD's.

Telling Amazon that you get your inventory from Craigslist or flea markets is not very likely to work. They want to see REAL invoices from REAL, known LEGITIMATE suppliers. And there are relatively few of those.

its really not (i hope), i got the same email but a different category but i sent in my documents and BAM they allowed me to keep selling. they did the same thing last year. Its usually from late october/november to about feb/march that they block certain categories. At least in my experience thats the case.

I don't see Amazon going through all this trouble just to blocks sales through Christmas. That COULD be the case, but Amazon has been restricting more and more titles. over the last year. My GUESS is they came up with this to be the plan they put into place so they are not manually looking at every DVD title to decide which are restricted and which are not.

I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade, mind you, I'm just trying to analyze the situation logically.

Seems like if it was a temp thing they would have put dates on it like they do with selling toys.. Dont know of all sellers get the toy emails for the hoildays but every year they limit sellers to toys who only meet amazon's metrics for the christmas season.

I think youll need approval to sell in dvds just like in clothing, auto, jewelry etc.

I'd rather amazon limit the amount of sellers able to sell DVDs then to assume they are counterfeit and have the accounts deleted.

amazon does not need to take this approach though.

In terms of time/money, deletion of accounts is more practical for them.

Been on the table as likely to happen since late 2011.

I wish they would apply it to new accounts only.

I've sold 200+ dvds the past year and not a single return or issue.
