Canada Catagory Restrictions

Just registered for another Canadian account and found that it has category approval now (beauty, health and personal care, auto, etc).

Same categories as U.S. for approval.

Is this new, or is it because of time of year, or because of new account??

Also, how hard is it for approval in Canada, and should I wait till the start of the new year. It is a stealth account.

Just to clarify why you might be confused if the terms I made another Canadian account could suggest anything but amazon Canada. To back that up the OP even gave the thread the title

Showed up with restrictions on the same categories as the U.S.

From what I hear, Amazon gets strict on certain areas this time of year.

Been a gradual increase of telling new sellers to get approval to sell in certain categories on most platforms.

Canada is joining the modern age.

Weak traffic but true, limitations could be placed on categories close to holiday season.
