Order Defect Rate Contradiction
 
I am scared to post in the Amazon forums because I'm sure they can suspend your account, etc. if you post stuff they don't like, but I am wondering if anyone else has noticed that on this page:

When you look under "How can I respond to negative feedback for an order?" there is a line that says "When you receive negative feedback, put it in perspective. A 0-2% negative feedback rate is great."

When you think about this, if you have 2% negative feedback, your ODR at BEST is 2% if you have no AZ claims or charge backs. They are calling that great. It doesn't seem so great when they suspend your account for an ODR that isn't < 1%.

Anyone else find this odd? Thoughts about posting this on Amazon's seller forums? I'm curious to see if an Amazon employee would respond to this and what they'd say.

Odr is calculate by total orders. Feedback is just who takes the time to leave it and is normally around 10% of orders or less.

So 2% negative feedback will not get you suspended and is a good score.

But 2% ODR is completely different.

^^^Exactly. You can, and should, push up your feedback rate by including printed notes asking for positive feedback, however. Without notes, you will receive feedback on 5-10% of orders, and a certain percentage of that will be negatives and neutrals, since angry, nasty buyers are much more likely to leave a feedback than happy, content buyers.

One of the best investments I make is in a service that is affiliated with Amz called feedbackfive.com. I get about 2-3X as much feedback as I did before and it increased my feedback score.
