VPN is connect to a network and tunnels the traffic through the vpn server and the only way you can connect to the internet is through a network. You can't forget a network or else there will no internet. VPN is a tunnel where the correct network goes through.

He is asking for a kill switch if the vpn goes down. The VPN is not a network.

I mis understood somewhat, I have home internet but I only use that for entertainment. I Just use a Internet device for stealth to prevent IP linking.

Correct but you should still follow all other proper stealth techniques

vmware is very helpful as well
