£1 is very different to £1500. Most time I get dispersements or withdrawals it not for £1.... Value of transactions will be an factor in if it gets held by the bank when coming in as deposits under an incorrect name. Very basic logic and knowledge

Plenty of UK bank accounts that are 100% safe to use its just very important for members to be aware that certain banks do have issues and avoid taking unnecessary risks.

Stick to a main high street banks and generally very few issues will be had

Yes James I agree with you, stick to a proper high street bank.

However as BACS is automated the value of £1 or £100,000 makes no difference. Banks do not employ people to check inward payments. Banks use staff when there is an error. Just imagine how many payments a day are deposited and how many staff that would be. And the BACS file only contains the sort code and account number. Just think how many people mis-spell names, or use initials rather than full name, all these would would get rejected as its not an exact match whereas sort code and account number is.
