Amazon cc questions
 

I have read through these forums and still can't find a complete answer. So please don't tell me to search the forums I've already done that.

I want to open a Amazon account. I'm planning on adding a second cc from an existing account .

1.im confused on the name / zip thing, should i just ask for a new card in the complete stealth name & make the stealth address just in the same zip code as the stealth info? or should the address be exactly the same as stealth info?

I want to get it right the first time because my cc issuer charges $20.00 for each additional card.

My other question is. Does amazon check public data the same as ebay? Is the public data scrutinized more than ebay? Less than ebay?

I haven't tried selling on amazon for 3 years because it was so much more involved & ebay suits my business model better. But i want to dive back in.

If this is a bank issued card, then I believe that the address would have to match the stealth address. You can tell your bank that the address should be on the card for shipping - some merchants will not ship to anything other than the cardholder's address - but banks can add addresses for you. The name can be your real name because Amazon does not see that.

I have not run across Amazon checking public databases the way that eBay does. In my experience, Amazon relies more on their TECHNOLOGY to screen accounts while eBay tends to rely on the old fashioned methods of credit reports and identity verification.

None of this is to say that Amazon CANNOT ask for that, but it rarely happens.

The name can be your real name because Amazon does not see that.


So basically my card can say "joe smith" but i can tell amazon my name is "john doe" and the card can be verified by Amazon?

yes.
At most they will verify that the house number and zip code match
and of course the CC numbers themselves

I haven't found a back that allows you to have a separate shipping address on file.

Is it possible to get a visa debit card, quickly change the address, add it to Amazon, then revert your account to your birthday address? Does Amazon attempt card authorizations after it's been added?
