Default amazon returns

Had someone return something that I won't be able to resell. They sent untracked can I just say I don't have it or will amazon refund (from my money) anyway?

Was there something wrong with the item you sent them? If its a legit return of a defective product then you should refund them, tracked or untracked. With Amazon being so buyer friendly they probably would refund the customer on there word that they returned it.

The buyer most likely will open a A-Z on you since they did return it, can you take that hit?

They say its defective but its not, they're just a idiot. Wouldn't bother me but its a £50 item so winds me up when I can't resell it now(hygiene issues).

Thought them refunding anyway might be the case though, thanks

I was just looking on seller forum and a lot of people say Amazon requires proof of return, so if they don't have tracking they have no proof. You need to decide if you can take the A-Z metric hit if they open a claim. Since they didn't use tracking there's a good chance Amazon may not refund from your money (probably theres). If they returned for no longer needed you can charge a restocking fee.
