$22 for an OS that's no longer being supported is not uncommon, and jumping to the conclusion someone bought a counterfeit copy right off the bat like that is just absurd.

I use VMware workstation 12 and Windows 7 32bit for Vms. 64 bit for the host.

One point to mention here is how much RAM has your computer got? Each of your VMs will need at least 1gb RAM to run....2gb would be better. So using VMware with only 2gb RAM installed on your host machine is pretty pointless - will just be very slow.

Yes, I do realize that. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I'm all about saving money and I was pointing out the $22 could have been saved. Sorry for ruffling you guys' and gals' feathers.

With VMWare, don't use the latest version. I found version 8 or 9 is best. It is smaller and run faster

Here's a question that was never asked here in the forum:
Do you know if Amazon sees the windows unique version (like build # or serial #)?
Can they link if I'm installing a Windows ISO in VMware again after that specific ISO ran a banned account?
I'm asking to know if I can use the same "burned" windows ISO/DVD for new VM I open...

VM's can be shutdown like a regular Computer, Computers don't have to be turned on 24/7 to work.

For the VM Ware I use I have to install everything seperately. Since it is a different computer than your actual computer it is a clean basic version of Windows with nothing installed.

I do not want to hijack this topic but I have some VM questions myself. Whenever I start up one of my virtual computers it really takes a long time to start up and after that it is still slow, even though I assign about 4GB ram to it.

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Swithing from one account to the other almost takes 10 minutes.

I was considering to start to use Firefox portable rather than virtual computers. Can someone give me some pointers what to look out for when using this?
Is changing IP enough or do I also need to delete flash cookies every time when I switch accounts?

Miketyson for me, USB drives way too slow. It's the write speed of it compared with regular drives. Tried installing Linux on it, it was a pain in the a** to run. Better off running an OS off a real external hard drive. It can take more reading and writing far better than a USB drive.

I would assume considering your using USB, that initself caps performance. But I am curious...

So lets say you can run 5 VM's simultaneously from an internal hard drive, can you do the same form external? Without any drawbacks in performance?
