I am just wondering if paypal can check your passport number and drivers licence number? i blacked out my passport number but i left a piece of it off.

this is for an australian paypal i might add

Preferable you did not black out too much of the passport.

Usually better to have 'some' numbers visible.

they said they accepted the drivers licence

but told me they could not accept the passport. that i need to do a utility bill.

is there anyway they can check the utility bill?

does anyone know if a cable bill is considered a utility bill

Yes cable is a utility bill just like water electric garbage etc.

They definitely dont phone the company the bill is with to check if the user exists,they just look over the documents to see if the address matches the one on paypal.

I sell small things and was going real well until I just left the money in paypal for the last month or so and it reached over a thousand dollars then I get hit with all of this.

my issue is the utility bill does not completely match the address on my paypal which is why I was asking if they checked it
