Default Why is Paypal Australia so strict compared to other countries?

Have experimented a little bit and have opened
Aus accounts
US accounts
UK accounts
European accounts

Now I have noticed the most difficult account to open and maintain has been Australian. Why is that?

Example, When i sign-up to an AU account. It asks if i am politically connected and it tries to Match/Verify my address by matching it with Ausposts System. When i opened a US and UK account. It doesn't even bother matching it with their postal systems and it asks less questions during sign up.

I have opened European accounts. (Non-UK) and they only ask for a credit card to verify the account while AU accounts need a Bank + Credit card to be able to verify the account.

it's kind of odd cos i thought out of all western countries. You think the US would be more stricter as Australia always seems to be a little behind in terms of security and technology.

I find it is more of a hassle with what the other countries do as you get really going with the accounts.

USA has the SSN and tax issues.

UK has the £1900 money laundering.

Do your Australian account correctly and it can be a long term money earner if you can deal with the much lower $1000 money laundering early enough.

EU countries are subject to anti-money laundering too. Can be OK though.
