Activity: 0% Longevity: 82% | | Selling Retail Keys
I was selling some Retail Keys, that are 100% genuine and not generated through keygen etc, I own them.
Ebay removed the listing three times, and I have left it now.
Do not want to get banned.
I have started listing on a new account, but business is slow, probably due to feedback being 4, as to previous account of 2000.
Anyone got any tips to sell them without being picked up, Ive searched around and there seems to be people selling the same product, with over 1200 feedback all from that one item. Yet they have not been banned? What are they doing that I didnt?
If ebay remove a listing from my other account for the 4th time, will i be suspended, banned?
Thanks

You'll need to provide more information. What policy did they state you violated when they pulled the listing?

May have something to do with the ebay rules of selling keys.
I tried to sell some old railroad locks and keys a while back and they took them off. Not allowed to sell keys to any railroad. I know yours are new keys but every time I have tried to list an older set of keys, even old skeletons they pulled them.
Have you checked to see if other sellers are selling them?
Might be a trick to how you list them or something.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 82% | | yes I have searched, and the search brings up loads of results, lots of people are selling them!
ive read there listings to mine and cant really see that much of a major difference.
a friend suggested that other sellers of the same item may of reported/flagged my item, so ebay then seen it?
my policy compliance is now "very low"
it said... Thank you for your recent listing on eBay. Unfortunately, your item(s) breached one or more of our policies and had to be removed from the site. Any associated fees have been credited to your account and any bidders on this item have been notified.
Why did we remove your listing?
You may not list unauthorised copies of media on our site because selling them is both illegal and against eBay policy. Unauthorised copies include (but are not limited to) backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies of software, video games, music, films, television programs, photographs and books, both published and unpublished.
Copyright owners possess the exclusive right to reproduce their copyrighted work, to distribute copies of their copyrighted work, and to perform or display their copyrighted work publicly.
Guideline: If the product you are selling is a copy of another work that you aren't authorised to copy, don't list the item. Listing unauthorised copies of copyrighted material infringes upon the copyright of the rights owner.
This may include hard disks pre-loaded with unauthorised copies of media (including software, movies, or music). "Hard disk loading" occurs when software is loaded onto a computer, often as an incentive to increase the value, without an accompanying license agreement, manual, or documentation. i dont see what ive done wrong? it was a windows retail key...ebay it and theres hundreds of results.
i dont want to risk listing again, will i be banned on the 4th alert? |

You probably will, so don't list this item for another three months. In the mean time do the research and try selling those on another account, assuming you found out why the auction was taken down and you dealt with it....

I know, but don't let it to be 4th take down. 3 is the most Ebay will do, and they have been quite tolerant because of your high feedback. Don't play with fire, because next time you will receive suspension.. I am sure you value 2000 feedback account.....Just be patient, build up a little that low feedback account and in no time you'll be selling there too....

That's very true. It really depends on what you're selling.

I'm not sure here...was this listing for computer software or some sort of hardware? Did eBay pull the listing directly or was it thru a "rights owner"?

However, is it legit to resale those keys? You need to make sure about this and those big guys can knock you down everytime easily..

It is only legal for the company who makes the software to sell the keys only.

I know a drug dealer who's rich! Some people are just better at getting away with illegal activity. Selling of key is illegal, unless you write the software. Period. If you sell the actual in the box software, like walmart does for example, it is legal.
Read eBay Stealth.

You don't have to answer that question here, but if it is the case, I'd advise you to stop that practice immediately. Not only are you in violation of your MSDN agreement, by selling the keys you are also engaging in piracy for profit, and Microsoft will not take kindly to this.
Second, it violates other Microsoft agreements to ever sell just product keys or COAs. You CAN sell OEM products, but they MUST be sold with a valid piece of hardware.
Third, eBay policy states that you cannot just sell product keys.
Fourth, eBay policy states that you cannot sell digitally delivered items. You must ship some sort of physical products.
So there's 4 pretty valid reasons eBay would remove your auctions. You got away with it for a while, and as you can see, others are still getting away with it. There is just far too much activity going on at eBay for them to catch EVERY bad auction that gets put up.
If you want to report others selling such products, their auctions may or may not get taken down and they may or may not get in a lot of trouble.
If you want to get some stealth accounts going and try these same products again, your auctions may or may not get taken down, and you also may or may not get in a lot of trouble.

The only entity allowed to sell the keys is the writer of the software. No software company allows the selling of keys only. However, I personally wouldn't fear prosecution, unless you're doing this is hundreds of thousands, or are ripping off people buying from you.

I did a search for "Windows 7 retail key" on ebay and there is nothing. The link you gave us there is only one listing, looks like your not the only one. Anyone ever wonder if there are eBay spies in this forum cracking down on everything we talk about...
