Default Any advantages/disadvantages to selling internationally?

Just curious if most of you in the United States sell internationally and if there are any advantages or disadvantages to it? Of course the obvious is that there are more buyers bidding on your items that way to the odds of it selling for more are good.
And what if your selling vero or trademark violation? Any more risks selling internationally that way with paypal and or ebay? Just curious what you all think, I'm assuming most of you will say just as much risk but not more with selling internationally, but just want to make sure

Most of my buyers are international. Like 3/5 and I noticed alot more lately! :D

Advantages
-You can simply tell them to send you the money via paypal(off-ebay transaction FTW!) and they will do it specially if they feel that you won't allow them to bid because of their feedback and/or location.
-More money(usually they're willing to pay more than a US buyer)
-Returning buyer.

Disadvantages
-Scammers/taking a risk specially if their feedback is really low.(But this can easily be eliminated if you follow the first method under advantages)
-Higher shipping.
-Filling out that long form at the post office putting their long name and address and city which sometimes doesn't fit.

yes, thats my biggest concern, scammers. It seems that the most scammers I have come across are international. Im thinking because I'm a threat on their business. So if I chose not to sell internationally will these international scammers leave me alone?

I sell international and the one thing I notice that all of my Detailed seller rating for international shipping are absolutely perfect.

I charge a premium to send items internationally as they are very expensive to send from the UK. Europe is not too bad but World Zone 1 (USA, Austrailia, Canada etc) Can be very pricey.

I dont know how they calculate the DSR ratings but I have sent a lot of items internationally and to have perfect DSR ratings surprises me.

Either ebay have not got on to calculating international sales into the equation, or USA, Australian and Canadian buyers are just more generous people with ratings.

If that is the case then UK buyers are assholes. I am getting low DSR's from UK buyers when postage is set at "counter price" Not taking into consideration the other materials.

I am considering maybe selling to international more if this is the case.

Advantages
Make your business more big and more famous in the world, get the chance to know more international market as well
Disadvantages
Need more funds to run your business and the risk will be more than local selling.

But it is good to sell internationally as the market is so big .
