Any suggestions on how to get your listings up on to the first page on eBay. I'm a PowerSeller, but my item still gets on the 36th page!

Hmm you need to jazz auctions up with more features - rarely worth it, price speaks tons...

With one particular item I sell, across the 4 accounts I am currently running, all 4 listings are on the 1st page (out of 23) first 2 are mine also.

The higher purchase/view percentage seems to be the key thing.

My accounts have good DSR's (also another key issue), but we are talking accounts with 30-200 feedback, not huge by any means.

Jazz up your listings, make sure the price is competative, and you will slowly make your way up.

Perhaps consider a new listing (not the same title though) then you will start on an even footing.

I mostly use 1 day auctions your item will show up on the first when it's a few hours before auction end.

If you're sorting by items ending soonest, which is how I search for things myself 99% of the time.
I think OP was asking in terms of "best Match" which always ends up as the default for me even though I hate it

Best match is still similar to items ending soonest, most auctions ready to end still show up on the first page.
