Default eBay Duplicate listing policy

I am unsure how this works. I know your not allowed to list 2 of the same exact listing at the same time and the others wont show up under searches until one gets a bid on it.

What has me confused is this, I currently have 3 items, one listed at 2pm, the other 6pm and another at 10pm. I thought when the one at 2pm got a bid then the one at 6pm would show up... Well, the 6pm did show up but the 2pm listing was autorelisted by inkfrog and when the 6pm listing got a bid, it skipped the 10pm listing and now the 2pm listing is visible.

So I have a listing that will go all the way through without ever being shown up in searches.

Any idea as to what is going on? I always thought the one that would show up would be the next in line to end.

It's a glitch, because usually it won't list 2 of the same items at the same time and inkfrog / auctiva will warn you about it and cancel the posting.

But SOME TIMES they let it through.

I suggest you cancel any duplicates, or cancel all and relist 1.

If you do auctions, just put one at .99 cents and the other at .98 cents. That is my trick to get 2 both auctions up at the same time if the 1st time has no bids on it.

That is a trick but if you are caught...it could be problematic. Why not vary title, listing info and price completely?

It might be a problem but I dont worry about it. I just dont understand why ebay will also do this to auction based listings. Dont they understand that people sell the same items over and over. I understand for BIN but why also auctions. I haven't had problems with it but who knows in the future.

If you have near 100% sell through your listings will not get blocked. Some days I will run 500+ identical auctions on a few items and never have blocked visibility but 100% of these items sell.
Items that only sell 80% of the time sometimes get blocked.

There is other tricks using bulk listing options but not for most people.

I thought Aspkin said they don't like more than 100 auctions per day?
