How much can you put through an account per month?
 

Hi guys,

I am hoping to find out if I should limit sales on my ebay accounts.

I know paypal has limits if an account is not ID verified and you go over $1000AUD, but if I am making regular (lets say weekly) withdrawals from the PayPal to keep it below that amount, do I have to be mindful of how much sales revenue goes through the ebay account?

Or could I sell as much as my selling limits allow as long as paypal remains under the $1000AUD threshold?

In my experience eventually you'll be asked to verify your details but in many cases it can take a long time for this to happen.

Cheers mate - So you can just sort of go for it as far as the ebay sales as long as you stay under the paypal $AUD1000?

I thought the $1000 limit is the total amount that can be withdrawn from PP in one month, not the maximum balance reached in your PP account.

It is my understanding you get a warning they want to sight your ID when balance reaches $800, and actually limited until you provide ID if the balance reaches or exceeds $1000.

Possibly so but If you sell, say, $500 items every day and withdraw the money as soon as it comes in then according to you that is nothing to worry about?

I was under the same impression of $1k limit but accidentally received $1700 payment without any issues with paypal. My account is not ID checked.

Seeing this i received another payment of over 1k into my other paypal which i withdrew without any issues...again none of my account are verified or ID checked, both have the notification that "ID check" pending after i had around $800 once...Not sure how is this possible......but both my accounts are more then 5 year old now and these transaction occurred in last 6 months only...so now I can confidently list and sell over 1k items.

I find its always best to get asked for documents early and you wont be asked again later... If you get over initial documents hump, then account can withdraw very high amounts....

Ease into it, 1.5k per mo is your target, build 100 accounts

oz26 - I did some research on PP web site and it appears that for Australian accounts there are no receiving limits, only a monthly withdrawal limit. That's not to say if you receive say $5000 that is not going to draw attention to your account.
Even the monthly withdrawal limit is not specified once a bank account or card is connected. Before adding a bank account, PP specify a withdrawal limit of $700 but after adding an account it just says "your withdrawal limit has been raised".
