Urgent: Mismatch banks no longer possible??
 
I'm very worried right now as it looks like they may have patched mismatched names on banks.

I have 3 new accounts and all of them have the same red banner with payments on hold AFTER successfully receiving a payment.

We're having trouble confirming your bank details
You must link a bank account that can send and receive funds to get paid for your sales. Link bank account


Of course "link bank" means logging into the bank.

I spoke with an agent who said it has now become mandatory for your bank to be verified before any additional payouts can be sent.
On these accounts I wasn't given the micro-deposit option, they just tried to do an 1p drop and retraction which fails on saving accounts causing the issue
"We could not confirm details for your **** UK plc account ending in ****, because we were unable to deposit and withdraw £0.01 to it.

Does anyone have information on this?

I'm seeing it on Santander and Natwest Saver accounts.
I've now spoken to a more helpful agent, I will post info below as this will become the new standard process for ALL new account creators here using banks where DD aren't permitted..
  1. The one penny drop process is now standard on almost all new accounts. This method will always fail with any accounts that don't allow withdrawal of the penny.
  2. Adding the account a second time will not work, the process of failure will repeat
  3. Opting to link the account will prompt another very similar method of re-adding account details manually. However I am told this method *should* trigger a set of options after 48 hours, of which manual micro-deposits is one of them.

I will update this thread if / when I have a resolution.

Yes new account was setup up in Jan 2024 and only started using 2 weeks ago

Sorry I didn't notice this was banks for ALL sites, maybe a mod should move this topic under Ebay discussion?

So far no good, the information given to me was wrong.. it's just repeating the 1p drop with no option to select micro-deposits instead.
I'm not as worried at this stage as I have 1 new account where micro-deposits were used and two agents from the managed payments team insisted they would always be keeping micro-deposits option as so many banks have issues with the 1p method.

Yep only a current account can be used. Savings account will not work anymore as they don’t accept direct debits.

Had to replace my savers with basic current accounts. These don’t provide as much of a hard credit risk whilst still being a fully functional account that can receive direct debits.

yes,Ebay uk is actually now requested full bank verification-mismatched names are being flagged hard.micro deposit no=by pass.personal or business bank must match and allow £0.01 test.

I am afraid going forward all venues will require matching seller name and bank account name,how does it work for AMZN as there are many companies selling on AMZN marketplace,they have company bank accounts?

Having the same issue on a new account, initially it had a natwest saver. Added and readded the same bank at least 4/5 times. I’ve just added a HSBC saver account as my last shot. If this doesn’t work I will be looking at basic current accounts next.

Saver accounts don’t work as they will now debit from your account to test, when debiting fails it won’t add, current accounts work fine
