Pay as you go SIM card for new telephone #

I have a global cell phone

would buying a new SIM card , pay as you go type, which would automatically give me a new telephone number work for phone verification purposes for ebay and paypal. In case they call it and I do not have it in the phone, I can just have them call back and pop it in?? Then switch back to my regular SIM for everyday ..

your thoughts?

its fine, but its better to just have a virtual number which can forward to your phone at any time without worrying about popping the sim in and its cheaper

Agree - somewhat cheaper too if you don't want to keep them active though.
