I tried to buy a simon giftcard using my mothers' credit card since my cards don't work. she lives in midwest and i live in puerto rico.

yesterday and today i get the message (after putting in password for visa verified):

The Simon Giftcard site is currently unavailable.
We're sorry. An error occurred while processing that request. Please
select the return button below and try again.

i try again - same message

ip issue or just simon not working on weekends?

Don't you hate when things seem to be offline, or people are upgrading just when you want to use their service? I tried checking some credit card statements and pay bills last night, but 3 out of the 5 sites I checked were updating... What a bitch...

Same here, I got the same exact message, so I called their number. The guy who answered (in India surprisingly:eek: ) told me he tried to do it himself while I waited on the phone and told me he was having the same issue, that I should check back tomorrow [tuesday 26th of june] I REALLY don't think its an IP issue. Was all the info you typed in correct???

This has been going on for at least a month. Since then, I just started going to my local Simon mall to get mine. The India call center was of no use nor did I get a response from Simon's customer service via email.

E-mail delivery option gone??
 

Hmm. Odd...the "e-mail delivery" option in the drop-down menu is not available anymore on Simon.com.

Also, I went to Walgreens to get a Visa pre-paid debit card. And at sign-up, eBay took it no-problem. 2 days lated my new (created to the 't' following instructions on the forum [except my card was from Walgreens]) account got suspended for: "Your eBay account has been suspended. eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies. "

What is happening!!!!????

Sometimes it happens. EBay is odd like that. Just try again, it wasn't your CC.

and so on...they want a bank statement or util. bill and drivers license

I can't believe they don't even give you a reason...I am wondering, and not joking, maybe someone hijacked my acct??

Possible reasons for them to flag me:

1-hijacked account
2-they somehow found it it was a Visa gift card (Unlikely IMHO)
3-I signed up for a sellers account rigth away without buying anything and put a ___________ on sale (no logic here)
4-they figured I was masking my IP
5- bank account was bogus (though routing was REAL)

any thoughts?

since my last message i have tried almost everyday after clearing everything in the browser to buy the simon gift account (virtual email) and still get the same message that the system is down

tried late at night, morning, afternoon - all the same

suggestions?

I've had the same problem the last few days. I just got a virtual one from epassporte instead. I thought maybe the problem was that i didn't have a verified by visa credit card. My card worked with epassporte though.

OK, the order finally went through at Simon's, anybody know how long does it take for the email delivery card to arrive? its been a few hours already...

Last one took about 18 hours.

I keep getting "The Simon Giftcard site is currently unavailable." when trying to purchase a giftcard. This has happened the last 2 days in a row. Anyone else having problems?

Yes i have been looking to buy from Simon for 2 weeks now.
Always says unavailable

I dont ever buy them online, i just go to the mall and buy them. Google simon malls and see where to get them in your area.

Simon is Very Good, if you are in a Planning stage, and have some time, they normally take anywhere from several hours to 1-2 days on a weekend to deliver that email with the link for the gift card to your receipient.]

I thought it was just me, I have been trying for the last week to order the simon giftcard online with no luck.
I click order now and the page never fully loads.

I gotten mine just fine, I use Explorer, I read a thread a while ago someone using firefox kept getting the unavailable thing, they used Explorer and it worked.

i tried both IE and Firefox, still the same thing,...now going on 3 days

I can't seem to get a simon.com card it keeps saying processing_error , any other way to get hold of a simon.com card?

Look up their website and see where there is a simon mall. You can buy there.

Also what browser are you using? Been problems with firefox recently.

Its difficult for people who do not reside in the states - I am from the UK and can't seem to get the card in any way.

There seems no way around it - the error message seems to be affecting other users as well.

Is another alternative in getting a simon.com card?

I'm a little amazed that many of you use Simon with no problem. In three attempts I could never get signed up - and no customer service!

instead i have been buying VCCs from a guy in India (I think). Two eB accounts I opened 10 days ago are still up.

Does anyone know if there is any more long-term problem using these than the Simon cc?

At the day I CAN NOT ge the Simon. I live in south america and the
credit card Im trying to buy with is from my country. Basically I
think they are running AVS on my card and will block any non-US CC.

Anyone had luck buying with a non-US cc? what are the Simon alternatives?

my tries:

1- computer #1 + cc #1 = giftcard unavailable banner

2- computer #2 + cc #1 = giftcard unavailable banner

3- computer #3 + cc #2 + US PROXY to connect to simon + submitted Identity information (zip, phone, city) matching the proxy location: giftcard unavailable banner

I have a cc #3 to try but as you see, I even logged to Simon from US proxy so this is not IP banning, they are blocking certain CC types/locations

I ordered 2 gift accounts on 5/7. Have not received them yet.

no problems here, just bought couple last week and got them in my email. Used same simon account and CC.

Cachufleta: I was able to get a washington Mutual VCC ordering from MX, but my info and CC are USA. I pmed you about Idia vcc.

I have been trying to purchase a Simon gift account, in my desperation even a gift CARD for nearly 10 days *SIGH* but every time it processes the purchase I have received a message stating that it is temporarily unable to process & that I should try again...which I have done about 100 times. I have tried using different computers, different credit cards, all valid & good. I even had friends & family members try w/ their cards. WHAT IS UP???? I am getting desperate! I can't work until I get new eBay/PP & I need a CARD!!!!!!! Can anyone PLEASE give me some alternatives (free virtual CC's) or tell me what the hell is wrong & what I can do??? HELP HELP HELP please! TIA!

P.S. I contacted Simon CS...they are in India...and LESS than helpful. They submitted a ticket 5 days ago to their tech dept. & ZIPP has happened since. When I call they just say try again in 24 hours...which I do...unsuccessfully. WHAT IS GOING ON??????????
