Why bother with VCC? I'm in Canada
 

Hello Guys,
I went through the S book and went out to get visa gift cards.
I added it to my new paypal account but I still have no clue why I should do this. Because I still need to add bank account to verify the paypal account.

In the past, with my real paypal account, I just added my real bank account and got verified and worked just fine.

Is there anyone who can enlighten me why we, especially in canada, need to add a VCC?

I put it in to lift the withdrawal limits on my PP (VCC + bank account needed)

I also add a VCC so I can use PP as an auto-pay option for my new stealth accounts so I can list immediately.

In fact (''Technically'') a canadian paypal need only a Bank account to be fully verified with no withdrawal limits. However, adding a VCC and confirming it, make the account stronger, especially for withdrawals -Vs- Limits. My own experience, I was able to withdraw from an account with Vcc up to $499 without any problem.... when the account had only bank account, any withdrawal will result to a soft limitation (Confirm adress by linking a card, or upload a Utility Bill).
So in my opinion, even if it's not an obligation, it's better to have a VCC AND abank account, it can avoid you some issues, especially when you can buy a Vcc for $15 or less

But in Canada, looks like we just need to add a bank account and everything is just fine: lift limits, use paypal as an payment option for listing on ebay.

Maybe adding VCC is just needed for folks in US?

I have another paypal account which is only linked to my bank account. I can withdraw 1000+ without any problem.
I've tried several times.

Again, I didnt link any VCC. Only my bank account.

I do have another question: if the balance in the gift visa card reaches 0, will this card expire and paypal get notification of that then limit my account?

No, doesn't matter will be fine.

There is no need to link any cc to paypal in Canada. I have another account to which I linked only bank account and I have no send or withdraw limit.
Everything is fine.

You can use it to pay eBay fee's without worrying about using your PAYPAL to automatically pay the fee's. This can save problems in futureeeeeeeee
