Vanilla gift card can't be recognized by Paypal
 

I tried to use Vanilla gift card (Visa) to register my Paypal account but Paypal showed a information: the card number is not complete. I am sure to write down all number.

This 'vanilla' card has been mentioned as troublesome, john.

The card is called: vanilla gift card. No registration is needed. I bought it from 7-eleven shop, where only have this Vanilla card. Which vanilla card is good for Paypal?

If your using the correct card (it's grey color and says "debit" between the hologram and the Visa logo) then registration is needed for PayPal. Go online to VanillaVisa dot com and register it by imputing the ZIP code that corresponds with your stealth account.

Vanilla Visa does work but you have to get the one that isn't a set amount like $20, $50. You need to get the one that allows you to purchase in any specific amount you wish to load.

What is the expiration date on the card? That might be it.

YES you do need to register the zip code to the card at www.VanillaVisa.com

There are a few expiration dates that don't work, however you won't know if yours will work until you try registering it..

does the visa gift card work at walmart if I reg it before using it... I want to link it to my pay pal account...

I've used 06/20 & 02/21 and have had zero problems.

Purchased at Walgreens for $4.95 and placed $20.00 on the card. Need to go back today for 10 more. ;)

Zip code has to be registered at VV before adding to pp.

Also, there is a thread on some dates not working for some reason here on the forum. Search for it.

I am willing to wager all the exp dates work. Prolly some user error involved.

Doughboy had a list a while back that had 3 different dates that no longer could be used, I dont remember exactly but thinking they were all from 2019.

Just confirmed that 09/19 Vanilla Visa works to lift PP limit!

Just used 8/20 and all was good.

Just used a Vanilla Mastercard, $25 hard value expiring 05/20. At first PP rejected it until I found this thread and realized I had to register the zip code at the Vanilla site. Then it went through and I seem to be good. I also bought a Vanilla VISA with a custom amount that I'll try on the next account I setup.

Used 2 new cards today, no problems. ;)

You can only add the Zip so it's not a good idea to add the card to a pp then put the funds from paypal to vanilla card then go to the ATM to withdraw? Does it require a SSN? And do they send you one to the stealth address or you can just go buy one and just register the zip code and it's all done?

You purchase the gift card at a Walgreens and register the zip online. You can't load it from PayPal unless you upgrade it to a MyVanilla card and that requires your info. It's used to open the eBay & PayPal account. Withdrawals are made to Bank/Credit Union account.
