Vanilla gift card can't be recognized by Paypal
 

I tried to use Vanilla gift card (Visa) to register my Paypal account but Paypal showed a information: the card number is not complete. I am sure to write down all number.

This 'vanilla' card has been mentioned as troublesome, john.

Can you tell me which one you used please?

The card is called: vanilla gift card. No registration is needed. I bought it from 7-eleven shop, where only have this Vanilla card. Which vanilla card is good for Paypal?

If your using the correct card (it's grey color and says "debit" between the hologram and the Visa logo) then registration is needed for PayPal. Go online to VanillaVisa dot com and register it by imputing the ZIP code that corresponds with your stealth account.

Vanilla Visa does work but you have to get the one that isn't a set amount like $20, $50. You need to get the one that allows you to purchase in any specific amount you wish to load.

What is the expiration date on the card? That might be it.

YES you do need to register the zip code to the card at www.VanillaVisa.com

There are a few expiration dates that don't work, however you won't know if yours will work until you try registering it..

does the visa gift card work at walmart if I reg it before using it... I want to link it to my pay pal account...

I've used 06/20 & 02/21 and have had zero problems.

Purchased at Walgreens for $4.95 and placed $20.00 on the card. Need to go back today for 10 more. ;)

Zip code has to be registered at VV before adding to pp.

Also, there is a thread on some dates not working for some reason here on the forum. Search for it.

Register your zip code and retry.

I am willing to wager all the exp dates work. Prolly some user error involved.

Doughboy had a list a while back that had 3 different dates that no longer could be used, I dont remember exactly but thinking they were all from 2019.

Just confirmed that 09/19 Vanilla Visa works to lift PP limit!

Just used 8/20 and all was good.

Just used a Vanilla Mastercard, $25 hard value expiring 05/20. At first PP rejected it until I found this thread and realized I had to register the zip code at the Vanilla site. Then it went through and I seem to be good. I also bought a Vanilla VISA with a custom amount that I'll try on the next account I setup.

Used 2 new cards today, no problems. ;)

You can only add the Zip so it's not a good idea to add the card to a pp then put the funds from paypal to vanilla card then go to the ATM to withdraw? Does it require a SSN? And do they send you one to the stealth address or you can just go buy one and just register the zip code and it's all done?

You purchase the gift card at a Walgreens and register the zip online. You can't load it from PayPal unless you upgrade it to a MyVanilla card and that requires your info. It's used to open the eBay & PayPal account. Withdrawals are made to Bank/Credit Union account.

Ahh okay I am in Europe. I did have an account n0w and gr33ndot before. Alright I'll look for another way to withdraw funds. I was thinking of sending it from one account to another but by buying something from myself off ebay. Then sending in the package with tracking so it looks good etc.

You mention needing to add a Zip Code to the paypal Vanilla card. Can I pick any zip code in the US or does it have to match my other information?

Also, is this the MyVanilla or OneVanilla card? I can't quite tell the difference between the two at the store.

You have to put the same zipcode as your stealth.

Stick to the Vanilla Visa's that say "GIFT CARD" when it doubt. Also read the back, if the card requires your "SSN" then don't get that one.

I can confirm the Vanilla Gift cards work. Just verified my PP with one that I bought from 7-11.

Just follow these steps:

1. Go to 7-11 or any convenience or large grocer store chain
2. Find the Vanilla GIFT cards MM78 shows pictured above
3. Buy one, all you need to do is register the zip code on the vanilla site
4. Add to paypal, within a day or two you'll see the charge then verify.

Done!

Just to add for you GWW - you dont need SSN to buy the credit card (does not work like a bank however)

I here about vanilla and paypal a lot but nothing about ebay and vanilla. Does anybody know? I already have an account but my old gift card that I registered with is about to expire and I heard it rejects gift cards to have on file as a seller back up. Does the vanilla work or not? Will I have to buy a US vcc then?

Ebay doesn't require a Card anymore....Only Paypal.

Hello,
I was able to use a vanilla gift card today without having to add the zipcode, to the card.
have 25 dollars on the card but don't plan on using it as my main payment method. Will be using my secondary bank account for that.

I have a problem. So I mentioned above I used the vanilla gift card to register, and it worked. It lifted my limits.

The problem is, I cant do instant transfers from bank. If my paypal balance is $0 and I need to send a payment or purchase something, it charges my vanilla GC or tries to do an echeck .

Just a note to anyone else who tries this.

what is the solution? i believe when you transfer from bank you have the option to transfer from the actual stealth bank acct vs the card?

The only solution is to add a debit or credit card under my stealth name apparently....

These cards apparently (at least for me) are used for lifting the limits if any, but if you want to do instant transfers you have to use real cards.

Make sure you register the card online to the zip code that is used.


Merchants match

CC number
date code
zip code(you supply that to site)
and 3 digit security code.

Names and street address are not matched.

OMG you just saved my life, just bought a 100 dollar visa, didnt work on Paypal, or anything and omg you saved me so much even though this is from 3 years ago and you wont see this. 09/19 WORKS!!!!

Just curious, why get a $100 Gift Card? Seems extremely high....all you need is a $20 card.
