Cashplus took my money
 

I've had an express account for about two years, and there is a limit on the total accumulated amount of money you can add to this card before you will need to upgrade. I didn't keep track of the amount and when I deposited £250 last week they sent me an email that I have exceeded the total allowed by £246 and that I need to upgrade and verify things.

My account now only shows £4 balance, and the rest (£246) seems to have disappeared. I tried calling them but they kept me on hold and after wasting 35 pounds on that expensive number I didn't get a live person to talk to.

What can I do to get my money now without upgrading? I don't care if they close the account, but I need that money back. What should I do?

Maybe they sent it back to PayPal?

Why did you spend £35 on a phone call? How long were you waiting? Can you email them?

alot of phone contracts include premium 0871 numbers, so there is NO excuse to have to pay that much for a phone call!!!!!

did the bank balance ever show the full amount money? It could be it was rejected/never added,

what does paypal balance show? any notices from them...>..if it was last week the bounced money emails may show up soon....

Paypal is not involved. I topped up the cash plus card at the post office and have the receipt. Can I make a compliant or a claim at the post office? Cash plus only shows the £4 I was still allowed to add before reaching the limit, and the rest has disappeared and is not showing anywhere. Any advice is much appreciated.

you topped up with cash? Would have thought it was up to MCP to reimburse you, is there a name and address difference/issue re reimbursement? I expect they would want to reimburse you in a non cash way....

Can you please elaborate? What is MCP and how do I go about requesting a refund? The name is fine, changed my address though since I applied for cash plus.

I call it mycashplus mcp, so what I mean is there are various funding sources eg bank/wages etc etc, are any in place for a refund? what you need to find out is if refund must only be done via the way it was paid...

Thanks for advice. £15 more pounds wasted being on hold and unable to get a living person. This is just..... :(

MyCashPlus is only 10p a minutes from most landlines. You are either ringing from a mobile or being a bit OTT with the call charges.

Nearly all UK phone service provider can offer unlimited calls to 0871 number for a fixed monthly fee (about £5). No need to pay anymore than that.

I thought you are in Eire?


That might be the reason for the extra costs.


Have you ever downloaded their app?
