Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

Bitcoin's at around $3,900 right now.. hasn't been that low in over a month. With everything that's happening with China do you think it will continue to decline? Thanks!

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

My previous supervisor, who is a fund manger with return rate ranked at the top 10% among all the China hedge funds, said bitcoin will go to $5,000 at least.

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

I sure hope it continues to decline. The more it declines the more I can buy cheaply. Since there is no doubt Bitcoin will continue to increase over the long term, declines like this are load-up time.

I pray it goes down 50% so I can put all my monies so I can make some MAD MAD MONEY.

Back to $4,000 - which seems to be the new floor price.
The fact is it costs a certain amount to 'mine' a bitcoin these days (over $2500 if Im not mistaken?) that the price cant really drop beyond a certain point cause it wouldnt make sense for people to sell them.

Here's a reason why it may go down temporarily...

What this so called expert is not mentioning is the obvious bias in what he is saying - the rise of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies means the end of banks and cushy jobs like his.
he is also not mentioning his own daughter owns Bitcoins.

It may dip further but treat that as a time to buy... I am.

Always volatile, like to see it go down more for a good point to buy more. Just play the game

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

Buy the dips... Great opportunities to increase your BTC position as well as other cryptos that have been going down.

If you see the current BTC market cap ~ $135,839,452,048 and compare it to previous dips, it seems it can drop another 10B before it hits the previous bottom. My guess is we will see the price drop down to about $3600 at the lowest before it starts making its climb back up.

Personally picked up some more ARK, LTC and Monero :thumb:

But who knows, don't listen to me! :spy:

Could be a bit rocky through the 30th...

The downturns always seem to be short lived though, who knows.

Unless we have some other crazy news come out BTC should continue to hold its value and slowly move higher as well as the Alt Coins.

I said BTC will be over $100,000 in 20 years back in 2009 when it was pennies.

Now I am not sure because it was altered.

BTC starts rising again. Shows how resilient this currency actually is.

It's going to jump soon I feel.

I'll load back up in a day or two.

Looks like its heading up again.
Crossed the $4100 mark and heading to $4200.
Glad I held on to mine. I just got a nice deposit from localbitcoins for all the BCH they received during that hard fork in August. They converted it to BTC and deposited the appropriate amounts to anyone who had a balance with them during that split.

I didn't even know we we're entitled to the Bitcoin cash - found out earlier this week. Though Coinbase won't be releasing it anytime soon. No bother - I'm sure it will increase in value during this time anyway.

Am I right in saying if Bitcoin forks again, we'll get an equal amount of that too?

Yep. That sounds about right.
This time though Im moving all my BTC to a software wallet under one single address to simplify holding on to my private keys once that happens. Id like to have total control over my cryptocurrency next time around.

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

I don't think I see any thing positive in the long run about a free gift (Bitcoin Cash) having value. Everyone who got it obviously wants it to. But in the long run I would think it will end up devaluing the original if this free gift gains value. The more forks and free money handed out, it seems its the same as just printing more money which devalues currency in the real world.

If someone has a better understanding please enlighten me.

I'm under the impression this fork was pushed out without agreement of everyone involved. It was like an experiment to see if something given for free could maintain or gain value.

I would think the best option would be to sell off the BCC before it devalues. From what I've read about it I wouldn't invest in it, but maybe I'm missing something....

@Nate - I agree wholly.

I will exchange it for BTC the moment my exchange hands it to me.

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

I agree with Nate.
And am happy localbitcoins already sold it and deposited the proceeds in BTC form into my account :)

Re: Will Bitcoins continue to decline?

Now we can see that some countries start to bann bitcoin and it has influence on his price. But after all the price is growing again.
