I'm not sure if I can make this work, but the discord server I'm on has a section just for links to news articles on Crypto. I find it helpful since there is so much out there, together we can cover a lot of ground so if we were to post the articles we find relevant it will save a lot of time to have them in one place with out the discussion.

According to this article it sound like CME should launch futures the 2nd week of Dec.

I don't know for sure how futures work, but it sounds to me like this will cause a significant increase in price as CME group buys up large amounts of BTC for their clients (unless they already have in advance). Once they have a predetermined amount of BTC they'll launch the ability to take short positions. If my understanding is correct, this would only level things off unless they receive massive amounts of short positions, then they would dump a fraction of the coins they bought back into the market.

That's what I mean - in other words they're going to try tame a bull... question is will all the other good things going for bitcoin outwit them (which would mean big losses on their part, and success for btc overall).

Even Jamie Dimon, who has attacked Bitcoin as a fraud and a bubble, has said that he wouldn't short Bitcoin. In an interview in CNBC in September 2017, Dimon said:

I realize you cant believe everything you read... but its not sounding like this CME short positions thing will be a negative thing at all long term.

Speculative more than anything else, so take with a pinch of salt. But it gives an idea of what the value would be in the event BTC were to become the ruling currency of the world.

Crypto currency is another world.

That should push the market cap up. We nearly saw $8k bitcoin a few hours ago, I think it will be $8k within the next 24 hours.

The mining cartels already made billions when they pumped bitcoin cash, shorted bitcoin, and then bought back in. They don't care about bitcoin cash. Also, is anyone shorting bitcoin at 7.9-8k on margin? You probably made a few thousand today if you did. The behavior of the market is a bit sickening sometime, but it should stabilize over 8k in a couple days.
