| | Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... I'm not sure if I can make this work, but the discord server I'm on has a section just for links to news articles on Crypto. I find it helpful since there is so much out there, together we can cover a lot of ground so if we were to post the articles we find relevant it will save a lot of time to have them in one place with out the discussion. |

Re: Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... Bitcoin Prices Stabilize, Wall Street Poised For December Futures Influx https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitco...futures-influx
According to this article it sound like CME should launch futures the 2nd week of Dec.
I don't know for sure how futures work, but it sounds to me like this will cause a significant increase in price as CME group buys up large amounts of BTC for their clients (unless they already have in advance). Once they have a predetermined amount of BTC they'll launch the ability to take short positions. If my understanding is correct, this would only level things off unless they receive massive amounts of short positions, then they would dump a fraction of the coins they bought back into the market. |

fxck CME. they are encouraging big shorts | That's what I mean - in other words they're going to try tame a bull... question is will all the other good things going for bitcoin outwit them (which would mean big losses on their part, and success for btc overall). |
Re: Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... CME’s Bitcoin Futures Market Could Give Teeth to Bitcoin Bears https://cointelegraph.com/news/cmes-...-bitcoin-bears
Given Bitcoin's wide volatility and penchant for sudden bull runs, futures could easily turn into a bear trap instead of providing bears with teeth. Even Jamie Dimon, who has attacked Bitcoin as a fraud and a bubble, has said that he wouldn't short Bitcoin. In an interview in CNBC in September 2017, Dimon said: "I am not saying go short. Bitcoin could go touch $100,000 before it goes down. So this is not (what you) advise somebody to do." |
Re: Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... CME Group’s Regulated Futures Market May Enable Retail Giants to Accept Bitcoin https://cointelegraph.com/news/cme-g...accept-bitcoin
"the biggest boost to Bitcoin will come not from the trading of futures per se, but from what that trading enables: retail adoption."
"Almost as important as retail adoption, CME’s exchange will almost certainly bring about the SEC’s approval of a Bitcoin exchange traded fund (ETF) at some point in the future. The regulator had already said earlier this year when rejecting the Winklevoss twins’ proposal, that approval would be likely if regulated futures markets were established:
An ETF would be big news because it would provide another way for institutional - and retail - investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin.
In the case of an ETF, the fund must actually hold the underlying asset, meaning that if the ETF has traded shares equivalent to 100,000 BTC, they must actually own 100,000 BTC. This much buying pressure could only spell good news for Bitcoin price."
I realize you cant believe everything you read... but its not sounding like this CME short positions thing will be a negative thing at all long term. |

Also, is anyone shorting bitcoin at 7.9-8k on margin? You probably made a few thousand today if you did. BITCOIN HITS $8,000 AS THE SEGWIT2X HARD-FORK FAILS Bitcoin renewed its unrelenting trajectory into the stratosphere and reached a fresh all-time high of $8,040 USD during intraday trading on November 17, 2017. They will get most of the money back. Tether locked it down pretty fast. The tokens are worthless now. Hopefully we wont see much of a impact.
Tether is a token that is suppose to have the same value as USD. So if you want to take your money out of Bitcoin and put it in USDT on the exchange and jump back into BTC at the dip, that is how you do it, through Tether. |

The Crypto Community is so deep it's like the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland or the Matrix. You have to constantly keep your eye on a live chat like IRC or a Discord server where thousands of people from all over the world are constantly posting news they hear or see. Depending on where you get your info it can take a while to trickle down.
There's a good channel out there somewhere, we just have to find it, or never stop looking.
I found a website that uses a bot to pull news from all over the web but it's no where near as fast a live chat for getting info. You can check it out though, its good for 1st thing in the morning to catch up. https://cryptopanic.com/
Did you notice the attempt to pump Bitcoin Gold? I think it might have been that news coming out that stopped that real quick though. |
| duffrageous | 11-21-2017 02:25 PM | Re: Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... It headed down due to the release of bitcoin gold on bittrex causing a craze to cash in on the volatility across other exchanges as well that already had bitcoin gold. People bought bitcoin gold for as low as $10 on bittrex and some sold at the peak of $600. There was a Dash pump and bitcoinAnd in the ensuing panic, a lot of people cashed out as well. Also, Tether has no legal responsibility to ensure you can exchange your USDT for USD or other fiat if you read their TOS.
Events from yesterday:
1)BTG is released about 2pm/5pm et on bittrex, and people who have checked their wallets notice BTG has now been added in the amount of bitcoin you held on October 25, even if only fractions. The trade is now available on bittrex along with the wallet. https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-btg
2)With the volatility of BTG, Asian traders now decide to pump up Dash along with a mini pump of BCC(tiny in comparison to Dash). https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-DASH https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-BCC
3)The ensuing pumps and chaos are followed by a dip in BTC prices and a rush to cash out BTC or exchange for alts. https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=USDT-BTC
4)BTG makes one final push for 500, people decide BTG price is overvalued considering most of the exchanges don't yet have the ability to withdraw through wallets, and BTC price is low enough for people to buy back in around 7800. |
| duffrageous | 11-22-2017 01:52 PM | Re: Crypto "NEWS"... BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, LTC, etc.... I've been taking a few days off the crypto trading(holding BTC) to get caught up on orders, but man, it's hard to just watch the markets moving like crazy.
I was thinking the final dip looking at the charts might have had to do with the news breaking about tether. But why would the price of tether go down if tether was vulnerable? Wouldn't people just be holding BTC? Why trade into something that has less upside than BTC unless BTC is crashing hard? People are associating tether with USD, but it shouldn't be that way. It's just a crypto unless it has the same insurances as a bank, which it doesn't if you read their TOS.
DASH is rising again as well as POWR. I had a chance to buy POWR at 6500 during the panic Monday night, but I can't ride alt pumps when I got work to do. But does anyone have a system for riding pumps? Wait for 5%/10%/15% gains? How much does momentum play a part in pumps and when does it dump? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies...edger/#markets |
