You can only purchase bitcoin, litecoin, and ethereum on coinbase. Anyone with any investment sense would have a split among the three however they see fit. But most of us are gamblers. With crypto, you can either buy while the price is going up(riskier) or buy before the price goes up(great way to make money). But now if you buy Litecoin, you might have to wait 3 months before the next triple up to $1000. Are you willing to wait 3 months to triple your money if you didn't get it when it was $100 a few days ago?

One of the main reason why Litcoin ran up the way it has is because its a fast cheap way to move currency around the exchanges. Ethereum has been jammed up because of CryptoKitties and Bitcoin is Bitcoin with $20 transactions and takes hours to go through.

It's been easier to buy LiteCoin from Coinbase with CC and move it to another exchange to buy what ever other coin you want than it has been ETH or BTC.

The majority of transaction that caused the LiteCoin run up came from Coinbase.

I wouldn't buy any right now. Its due for a correction, once it dips and stabilizes I'd pick some up, its still possible Litecoin might be able to make another short run.

I guess what I'm trying to say is this run up isnt because its some amazing coin. Its just because its convenient right now.

I believe now would be a good time to take profits on Litecoin... Do your own research, this is just my opinion and I hold no Litecoin ATM.

Exactly - that's why I've not purchased any. It's currently a convenience coin, hence the increase in price. Long term - I can't see why it's any better than a Bitcoin on the lightning network.

There's also a part of me that thinks its getting pumped and dumped (soon) to push btc prices down - so once again big players can buy BTC cheap.

I own a solid amount of Litecoin. I agree with the comments its good for moving around since BTC is so freaking expense. I really do like what Charlie is doing with it.

But basically when you have 70 million crypto accounts (estimate) and Coinbase is adding 500,000 new customers a week. Its pretty obvious why ETH, BTC and LTC have been going up. Basically just get your positions and HODL. If these growth trends continue you will have 300 million in a few years chasing after limited numbers of Coins with BTC and LTC.

Everyone I know that has and BTC especially; they absolutely refuses to sell at any price. Actually most of them are still trying to get more here and there and they bought their first ones between $30 and $300 USD.

Seems not so long ago that BTC was that lower priced. We have moved forward so far now.

I have been inter-relating with people who were not even aware they could purchase a part of a bitcoin. These same people want to know what to buy with $1000 and what is an exchange? #%^%*%}&

I shudder at how they might be at risk in their endeavors.

Yeah, $30 for BTC....

Yeah... alright then.
Ill stick to bitcoin and watch it blow $20k out of the water in a few hours.
You stick with Litecoin - if you even bothered buying any...
Bottom line is no matter how you look at it Bitcoin is the clear winner this year and theres no other currency out there that can come close to competing with it in terms of growth. And from the looks of it its not going to slow down or change any time soon.

How this interest shows the nature of people.

Too many of these are trying to register with exchanges that are overloaded with the ID needed. So they are let in limbo unable to snare that you beauty sale.

Once the sale is in the pipeline, it can disappears! The wailing becomes like kids in a sand-pit.

The agony expressed by the wannabe paper millionaires is incredible. Like Isaid in another post, they have no concept of what they are doing.

Latest one I heard earlier is a man going to sell an investment property. Then he wants to put the profits of the sale into ALTS. He wants to gamble US$600,000.
Concept is mind blowing.

I was lazy before. Because Coinbase sucks. I registered for Gemini just incase I want to buy more. It took over a week. I've been buying BTC for years the demand is crushing.
