That you're asking how to short I must commend you for having the nerve to inquire. However, the mere fact that you're asking, tells me you shouldn't be looking into this yet. Not saying there is or isn't profit waiting, just saying you're talking about joining a game where veteran professionals are your opponents. Fast way to a slow financial death.

If you're really, really into it, then you should "paper trade" for 60 to 90 days while studying more than just "how do I..." and see how you do. If you don't know what that is, you need look it up as I'm not the guy who hands out fish; I'd much rather point and tell you something about learning to fish; be wary of free fish, my friend.

There is a lot of talk that the price fell from 20k because of the Mt. Gox sell off.

You auction your current Bitcoin at a value you are OK with. Your expectation is that the esteem drops further; and afterward, in the event that you so pick, you can purchase Bitcoin again at a lower cost.

BitMex or futures market Orderbook.net allow you to short bitcoin. But I wouldn’t suggest you to do it now. Low price makes it the perfect time to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin has already reached its bottom and won’t drop anymore. In the nearest future, the regulators that we've heard of will finally get to cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, large companies speculate on the news about regulations. The crypto market is not a place for those who panic.

In order to trade on Bitfinix you need to have at least 10k in funds and you cannot be located in the US unless you are a corporation and then you can apply. Bitmex is the only one I use, you will simply need a VPN(choose a country that is permitted..) and use it to sign up and log in. They have no id verification or anything along those lines. Never mention in there chatroom that you are in the USA. Now I must warn you leverage trading is very profitable but it is a double-edged sword, so don't over leverage!
