I want to know what is the right time to invest in Bitcoin. Will it benefit in short term or in the long-term hold?

It’s like any other investment, a bit of a risk

BTC is volitie at the best of times but long term most people think it’s still a winner

BTC always seems to do best when there is termoil in the currency martket. For the most part the 2 large currency markets are pretty stable right now. If the € or the $ hit a rough patch BTC may well increase in value a lot again. Same applies for if the media start to really talk it up again.

All just speculation though just like any other investment.

The best time to invest in anything is when the asset isn't overpriced.

The issue with bitcoin is, it's not been around long enough, nor has it really ever stabilised in value. So its very difficult to predict whether or not the current value is overvalued or not.

Example - it could dip in value tomorrow, or spike. You'll probably kick yourself either way.

So to answer your question, long term hold is best way to go. That way should it dip, there is a potential for recovery.

I have to give it to Tone Vays so far... He's TA has been on point since the beginning of the year when everyone else was off...

He says he doesn't see a trend reversal until we dip below 5k.

Never said he was right on everything. I haven't really paid attention in the last couple day... are you saying the trend is reversing now?

I just started feeling the pain the last couple days with ETH dropping below OCT 17' prices.

If its true that in order for the trend to reverse a lot of pain has to be felt... Price would still need to drop. I don't consider myself up on that list... If im just now feeling it (from a miners prospective), there is a lot of people not even close to feeling it yet. Price would still need to drop.

Everyone will be hurting so bad they will jump back into BTC from alts. I'm wishing I had exchanged all my ETH for BTC right now... others are soon to follow.

Nobody can tell you for sure when the time is up.
Long-term hold should be a benefit (how long can you resist to sell is an other point) and sometimes short term (take example of the last days..)
Overall I see Bitcoin as a good investition. But that's just my point of view.

Trying to predict short term price movements in BTC is basically gambling.

If you believe in the Utility and Tech etc then its sensible to have exposure to BTC though.

This can be something like having 10% of your net worth in BTC and adding 10% a month of your income each month.

I think 2018 provided a good entry point to buy in, anywhere around the 5-6K range looks somewhat stable.

You never know though, so only invest money you don't need for the next few years

By the next halving, its probably safe to assume you'll make a profit holding at current prices

When almost everyone gives up on it thinking it truly dead... That's when it will come back.

I would think it about time, but I keep seeing threads like this at the top of Recent Threads so I know we're not there yet.

Maybe once we dip below 5k down into the high 4's...

I wouldn't be surprised either if Ethereum takes off first cuz that sh!t looks dead for-sure.

All analysis show that going below 5k in the short would be a good wave for the next rally which will surely go over the highest 20k we have seen so far.

All analysis said it was going to pump when it was $7400 a few days ago, then it dumps 15% in a day lol. TA is complete junk in crypto, the volume is too low. One whale selling dumps the price.
Plus nearly all the big exchanges seem to be shady and probably manipulating the prices anyway.

Well it's impossible to truly predict the future of BTC. You read what happened to ETH most recently? Price fell to a 12-month low lof $228.9 today, failing below the $255.05 of last September.

Anyway, those up and downs are more concerning for people trading with BTC.
If you buy BTC and just use it and/or cash it out right away, it does not really matter for you if the price is actually 1 USD or 50k USD. But once you start trading with it or holding for some time, definitely you should be worried about the future of these coins.
So it really depends on what you are doing with your coins, just like you have USD.

My target is still around $4900.

Might be time to cost average buys as its hard to tell when bottom is in.
