Hi chief and welcome! Where in Croatia are you from and how did you find us? Did you read my post - link on Aukcije.hr for this forum?

Most of the licensed products you find on Alibaba are ⊗⊗⊗⊗. There are a few legit ones, but not many. In addition; if you don't have a paid subscription, most legit suppliers won't talk to you. They have larger minimum orders, and the prices also reflect the product value.

That's pretty impressive! Is it somethin silly like 2k minimum piece order when making orders like that?

aliexpresss.com is good. It's part of alibaba.
Find some seller that has good ratings and feedback.

Aliexpress uses Escrow

alphonsus2010 05-14-2010 06:59 AM

Don't pay via Western Union on anyone you don't know well.

Don't pay via Paypal as well, because paypal has buyer guarantee on Ebay items only.

You can never get your money back if you pay via paypal on alibaba or non-ebay sellers.

But you can use aliexpress.com or dhgate.com with ESCROW.

Always find ESCROW items!

donot deal apple iphones with oversea people.

ha Kaby - why torment yourself and scammers. But yes, someone attempted to scam me recently for ipod stuff - even tried to get me to do bank transfer when i said no to moneygram or western union ha...like that is some protection.

Buyer beware

Ping Guo 07-25-2010 04:44 AM

Kaby, let me save you lots of trouble - you won't find Apple for less than retail, not unless you're a big retail chain or buying refurbs.

10,000 iPhone 4s from some boiler room in mainland China... are you familiar with the term "due diligence"?

moloko 08-10-2010 07:47 AM

I personally buy lot of lega stuff and pay with WU. It is safe if you know the seller. All popular brands like apple is the target of scammers. So I suggest just be smart and look for a greater niche, dont choose easy way, because loose the money. There are so many things to sell from china you dont need to buy knockoffs.

geogeo 08-31-2010 02:22 AM

Yes, go with paypal.

Thankful 09-10-2010 01:22 AM

My advise would be FORGET about purchasing Iphones abroad specially from alibaba, find another product to sell doesn't always have to be a brand name since they always come with a risk even if you find real one ebay may come up with some silly excuse to take it down.

I buy from alibaba myself on occasions from trusted suppliers, i don't by name stuff, so i run no risk when selling on ebay, and i make just as much money as any other guy who sells brand names and runs a risk!

Research!!

Gamefreak 09-12-2010 01:02 AM

DONT USE PAYPAL OR WU OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER unless you know the seller is legit. It took me several months of purchasing small amount of items before I was comfortable with sending my supplier $2500+ through paypal. as the guy above says PAYPAL does not protect you unless you purchase through ebay.

If you open a case it is automatically closed in sellers favor.

Not if you open a charge back. Paypal + creditcard = ultimate protection for buyers...

jbluntz 09-12-2010 02:40 AM

Paypal is not so good with overseas suppliers any more almost every time they reverse or investigate the payment putting your funds on hold for a long time, even with credit card since most over seas suppliers use paypal as the merchant, maybe I need a new computer, who knows but WU seems to be the only way you can pay these days.

MERMAID 02-05-2011 12:36 AM

never use wu:mod:

bali 05-20-2011 04:15 AM

always use PayPal or escrow. :)

by the way, you can ask the serial and model number. From that things you can trace the truth thru apple.com

You do realize that A LOT of chinese foofoos uses stolen serial numbers right? That means it will still get pass the "warranty check" when you inquire with the stolen serial number.

bali 05-20-2011 03:03 PM

yeah, you are right. so we need to be smart too on that place.
try to buy from Gold Supplier. Join their forum and ask a review about that seller.
ask for sample order ( 1 unit first ) or COD or pay to courrier.
and the most important thing is use PayPal.
do not forget to write subject on paypal (IE: " Original iPhone 4G " )
on the comment " Refundable if it is f-a-ke! "

maybe that comment will help us when paypal staff review about our transaction.

hi

this is not the case.

I purchased a branded product recently - not high-end, from one of those sites, paid with pp as usual. The seller sent a famous brand of @@@@ - not the brand i purchased and to top it off they were @@@@ and could have been siezed.

So i contact pp, I got my refund - then got limited on eb immediatly (guess they assumed i was gonna sell that crap i was sent).

2 notes: you can get a PP refund outside eb and be careful what you buy with pp if it's linked to an eb account - THEY DO SHARE INFO. Plus it helps if you use a bank attached cc as pp are aware you can get a chargeback anyway if they say no.

Note: if you are going for a refund or even suspect something is amiss - start the refund process sooner rather than later - gives the seller less time to do their dirty tricks, which won't cost you your anything if you get refunded, but pp wont like it and may decide they dont like where you shop!

Although I have heard that your pp can become limited also if you buy from these sites as they carry lots of risk from chargebacks, reversals etc.
